The last post that I wrote about how I hoped things were back to normal – gone. The comments – gone. It’s like my blog goes into twilight zone mode and literally goes back in time and resets itself to a earlier state of time. My server is currently undergoing a transfer. I’ve been advised to not write any more posts until things are worked out (which shouldn’t be long). I do have a scheduled blog tour for tomorrow. I’m going to go ahead and give it a try and if I have to republish it again, I guess I’ll do that. (Edited to add: I guess you get a reprieve. Checked the calender, tour date is actually not tomorrow. Thank goodness!)

My email is also not working. Somebody please tell me how I survived without email and without my blog?!

And I guess if you leave a comment here today, I can’t guarantee that they’ll or this post will be here tomorrow. But here’s hoping! In the meantime, I’ll be reading!

How do you handle whatever technical difficulties are thrown your way?

Oh, sigh . . . I hadn’t realized how much I depended upon the computer and the internet. I have officially been without a computer for the past couple of days and it seems that we need to buy a new one. Ours was getting old, slow, and it finally bit the dust. I’m at my husband’s office, so I can post this message and so we can get online and order a new one. We even got a babysitter just so we could go get online. How’s that for a fun Saturday night?

So what does this mean? This means I really should have taken my own advice and prepared some posts for a week such as this one, but I don’t have anything ready to go up. So this means for perhaps the next few days or maybe a week I’ll be lucky to get anything put up (depends upon how much I can type in the half hour alloted to me at the public library), I’ll be slow in responding to comments, and I’ll be unable to visit any book blogs. I don’t want you to think that I’m ignoring my blog, your comments, and most importantly, your blogs. I just won’t be able to visit. I’m going through withdrawals already! Thank you for your continual support, kind words, and some recent awards that I’ll be passing on as soon as I can.

In the meantime, make sure to enter my current giveaway where I am giving away two books of your choice to four people. That’s eight books! To tell you the truth, I’m kind of saddened. I was really hoping that this giveaway would be doing better than it is, but I’ve only got ten entries so far. Why did I wish it was doing better? Because it’s about Darfur and well the people in Darfur need all the help they can get. Simply by entering, you’re making a small difference by increasing awareness. And that’s what they need right now. And well, I need to clear out some books. So hop on over and take a look. And trust me, the quiz is super, super easy!

Since I won’t be blogging for the next week, I’ll be reading. I’ve got seven books waiting for reviews (now I’m wishing they were written already), ten books checked out from the library and I stayed up till 2 am last night because I could not put down Escape by Carolyn Jessop, a memoir about being married to a polygamist. My second book this month on that topic, as I also read Shattered Dreams by Irene Spencer. Her book was so completely fascinating and utterly disturbing that I had to read another one and it’s equally as disturbing. I’m also in the middle of We Wish to Inform You That Tomorrow We Will Be Killed With Our Families by Phillip Gourevitch. I’ve got Maus and Maus II by Art Spiegelman lined up as well as Story of a Girl by Sara Zarr (Sweethearts is one that’s waiting for a review). I’ve had Atonement by Ian McEwan checked out from the library for months and will soon be reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho for my neighborhood book club.

Since I can’t go blog hopping at the moment, what are you reading right now? Do you like it?

Oh, and guess what? My subscribe to comments?! I swear it’s working now! The php mail server was rebuilt and people are now receiving follow up comments! YAY! So excited!

Have a great weekend . . . off to look at new computers.
