Bloggiesta Day 3 – No Way It’s Almost Over?
Did you know that Pedro has a sister? Well, he does. But she doesn’t have a name like Pedro (Plan. Edit. Develop. Review. Organize.) does. Maybe we can brainstorm in the comments?
I am so, so, so thrilled with energy of Bloggiesta. It is amazing! The starting line post has almost 250 people signed in and Twitter is going nuts. I really enjoy watching everybody accomplish and learn so much. Seriously. It’s a little thrill when I see somebody learn something new that they didn’t know before or conquer some aspect of HTML. Plus, you are listening to great music, and sharing fantastic food! What’s not to love about that?
Just a bit of housekeeping. I am really trying to visit and comment on everybody’s blogs. Do check to see if your name is in the blogroll in my sidebar for the shared RSS feed. If it’s not, let me know, otherwise I’ll miss reading your posts.
Just a heads up though that if you are on Blogger and do not have the option to comment under a Name/URL then I am having a lot of trouble commenting. I’m logged into a different Google account during Bloggiesta than what I want to comment under. So I have been reading the posts but unable to comment. (As an aside, you may want to reevaluate how easy or not it is for people to comment on your blogs.Perhaps a future mini-challenge?)
Also, watch the blog today for two different posts going up. One will be the prize list! Yay! The second will be the finish line post which will include an end-of-eventsurvey that I really, really, really would love for you to fill out.
Now back to the Bloggiesta! Is it really closing in on the end? About 24 hours left! Make the most of it.
Ole!
And as for Pedro’s sister’s name . . .

I’ve tried to change the settings for the comment system but I don’t know if it works. First you could only comment when you were a member but now everyone can post a comment. I hope it works

I couldn’t think of one with a B for Backup in it. BEATRIZ was too hard!
on January 23rd, 2011 at 4:04 amHey again
Thanks for visiting my bloggiesta page. I’m considering adding SEO to one of my tasts for today, but i don’t know where to begin!
on January 23rd, 2011 at 4:56 amI’m off to look for one of the mini-challenges, to see if there is an SEO one.
I don’t think I made it into the RSS feed on the sidebare… Hmm…
I’m the twitter id is @tea_mouse by the way.
on January 23rd, 2011 at 7:15 amThanks so much for all of this! It’s been great!
on January 23rd, 2011 at 7:25 amThanks again for hosting this…I hope you are getting lots done yourself! Thanks also for visiting my blog and cheering me on!
BTW – I love the names Yvann submitted – Maria and Carla both sound good and stand for the right stuff!
on January 23rd, 2011 at 7:37 amI like those names, Yvann.
But because Pedro had a serious name already, II thought of Felicia, meaning happy or lucky. And isn’t she lucky that her brother is sorting her blog out for her?
on January 23rd, 2011 at 7:38 amThank you for leaving a comment on my blog. I’m still new to blogging and experience such delight when I have a visitor comment. I’m learning a great from your challenge..
on January 23rd, 2011 at 8:24 am[...] been working on bloggy stuff as part of Bloggiesta all [...]
on January 23rd, 2011 at 9:06 amOkay I put a lot of thought into this. I like Yvann’s ideas but they are too similar to Pedro’s name. Leeswammes is on the right track that pedro’s name is serious but I don’t like the idea that the girl’s name means nothing and that a boy has to sort out her blog for her.
So I present: FELICITA. Whereas Pedro is about what you plan to do with your blog during Bloggiesta, FELICITA is about the experience of Bloggiesta and what you do during it other than work on your blog:
F – Fiesta
E – Enjoy
L – Learn (thanks to the mini challenges)
I – Inspire (inspire others, give them ideas for their blog)
C – Comment (on other’s blogs)
I – Imagine (what your blog will be like in future)
T – Tweet
A – Answer (other’s questions)
Some of those are stronger than others but I think it’s perfect.
on January 23rd, 2011 at 9:19 amI like that, Callista!!
on January 23rd, 2011 at 9:22 amI love Callista’s idea for Pedro’s sister!!!
Thanks again for such a great weekend! Hoping to get more done today, but so far it is going a bit slow! Reminding myself about baby steps!
on January 23rd, 2011 at 10:05 amHow about Linda? (which also mean cute, in Spanish, by the by!)
She’s Pedro’s more social sister who is more involved in the communal aspects of growing, sharing and coming together that blogging brings. She likes workshops, book swap-lists, helping others help you on big events, getting new bloggers responsibly in to the mix, etc.
Learn
Inspire
Network
Delegate
Appreciate
That’s all I’ve got. Ole!
on January 23rd, 2011 at 10:20 amI like Callista and Pam’s suggestions.

I really like the names everyone came up with especially Pam.
on January 23rd, 2011 at 12:10 pmI vote for MARIA (Yvann) & LINDA (Pam). Thank you for Bloggiesta!
on January 23rd, 2011 at 12:16 pmI was going to say:
Maria
Manage. Assess. Review. Imagine. Apply.
But then I read Callista’s name and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! My vote is for “FELICITA”
on January 23rd, 2011 at 12:31 pmhave loved bloggeista again ,all the best stu
on January 23rd, 2011 at 3:00 pmWhew, my eyes are bleary and crossed at this point. But I can see the finish line ahead. Just a little further…
on January 23rd, 2011 at 4:18 pmI LOVE Callista’s suggestion. Felicitia sounds like the perfect name for Pedro’s sister. This has been a great experience. Thanks for hosting this.
on January 23rd, 2011 at 4:35 pmAw, she’s adorable.
on January 23rd, 2011 at 4:53 pmFelicitia sounds like a great name for Pedro’s sister.
on January 23rd, 2011 at 8:15 pmI’m toast. Thanks to everyone for pulling this together. I got so much done and I learned so much more. My list is prepared for July. Felicita or Linda both sound fine to me. I am off to bed. Everyone have a great week!
on January 23rd, 2011 at 9:05 pmOh! such good names for Pedro’s sister.
Thanks for the bloggiesta, so far it has been awesome!
on January 23rd, 2011 at 11:01 pmI’m always worried that people can’t comment on my blog. I’ve recently disabled anonymous comments which also makes the name/url field go away. I have a love/hate relationship with this–when it’s disabled it means that people have to use their Google or Open ID login which means that I can return comments on their blogs from my email whereas with name/url I’d have to go to my blog to see which Christina made the comment. Plus, I don’t have to deal with the overload of spam that comes with the anonymous comments. I just don’t have time to deal with it–even when it goes to moderations.
On the other hand, there’s always that chance that someone can’t comment. Hopefully that person cares enough to mention it to me via email or twitter. If not…well…
Anyway–even though I’ve never actively participated in bloggiesta, I really enjoy catching up with the mini-challenges and everyone’s posts after the fact. One of these days the stars will align and I’ll be able to join the fiesta!
