September and October Reading Report
If I have dreams of reviewing everything I’ve read this past year in this current year, I need to stop reading and start reviewing! Such a bad, bad blogger this year. Read lots of great books this past September and October. I can honestly say that I liked them all.
Thanks to the great readalong being hosted by My Friend Amy, Amused by Books and Gerbera Daisy Diaries I read Lonesome Dove. I’ve had that book sitting on my shelf for YEARS and am sad that I let it sit for so long. Easily the best book that I’ve read this year and an instant favorite. I devoured all 940 pages in just 2 to 3 weeks. SO SO GOOD.

Now somebody tell me to stop reading and actually review these titles!
Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

I’d like to read your thoughts on Lonesome Dove, Never Let Me Go, and The Day the Falls Stood Still . I have never read a Western story, I find it hard to believe I’d like one but you make Lonesome Dove sound good. I really enjoy McMurtry’s non fiction but never read any of his fiction.
on November 5th, 2010 at 9:09 pmI have read Never…(enjoyed it, though it’s not my favourite Ishiguro) and The Day…(I gave it five stars) but would like to hear what you thoughts on them. Thanks.
Wow Natasha! You make a great case for Lonesome Dove. I know that AMy has been enjoying it, but I think it took her a little while to get hooked.
on November 6th, 2010 at 6:03 amI’m so glad you participated in our read along! And I am happy to hear you loved it so much! It’s definitely one of my favorite books of all times! Happy reading!
on November 6th, 2010 at 6:41 pmI just got Lonesome Dove last month – it’s my best friend’s favorite book, and your mention of it makes it so tempting, but I’ve been rereading Gone With the Wind, and I hesitate to pick up another one of that length so soon as it’s really slowed down my reading.
on November 7th, 2010 at 2:04 pmGah, you guys are making me want to read Lonesome Dove, even though I typically hear “Western” and think “no thanks.”
on November 9th, 2010 at 9:31 amI am so glad to hear you loved Lonesome Dove so much!! I can’t wait to read your full review, that is, if you write one. I hope you do. I’ve been trying to convince Jen to read it, but I don’t think I’ve done it yet!
on November 11th, 2010 at 9:53 amI just found your website through a Google search while looking for a review on a book that sounded interesting to me. I am enjoying reading your past reviews and looking around your site here. Thank you!
on November 19th, 2010 at 11:23 amI’d never heard of Lonesome Dove but I just looked it up and am impressed by all the rave reviews! I don’t really like Westerns either, but I might just give this one a shot…
on November 21st, 2010 at 7:04 amYou have a very cool blog! I like it! There’s no doubt that Loneseome Dove is a classic. Have you heard of the book “Alex Opalstone and the Window of Heaven’s View: Life 101?” I’ve read the free chapters preview and I’m excited for whenever it’s published. It’s about a girl who imagines how God blesses us even during what we see as tragedy and she sets a good example by protecting her friends from bullying. Anyone else here heard of it?
on November 23rd, 2010 at 12:41 pmI passed the Versatile Blogger Award onto you. You can check it out here if you’d like: http://bit.ly/gUOj3d
