The Current State of My Current Read
Last night I began to read Mr. Monster by Dan Wells again, the sequel to I Am Not A Serial Killer. I was so excited for this book. I could not put I Am Not A Serial Killer down. My husband ordered the sequel from England as it wasn’t released here yet (it is now! just came out this week).
When it arrived I had to wait for Taylor to read it first. And when it was my turn I was very excited. But then soon after starting, I had to take an extended break.
This happened:
Yes. I waterlogged the entire book. But it’s dry now and I’m hoping it won’t fall apart on me before I finish! And as my husband rarely buys books for himself, he’s not taking it easy on me for ruining his book.
This reminds me of the other book that I ruined in the exact same way. When am I going to learn?
Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

Ack! And to make matters worse, you paid for it! But as you know, we have all had these problems. We commiserate.
on October 6th, 2010 at 4:49 pmAt least Taylor had read it already!
on October 6th, 2010 at 6:33 pmO dear, did you drop it in the bathtub? I’m always horrified I’ll do that someday, as I love to read in a hot bath (but never dropped a book yet. Only a cordless phone once, and that dried out okay!)
on October 6th, 2010 at 6:34 pmOh no! I will have to read the other post to see what happened! Did you spill a glass of water on it?
on October 6th, 2010 at 8:44 pmI love that you are/were reading this book. Sad about the water damage, though! I’m hoping to post a review of Mr. Monster & I Am Not A Serial Killer if I have time this month.
on October 7th, 2010 at 7:38 amLook at the glass as half full … every time you feel like you need to practice NOT getting a book wet, well, just sit down and start reading! And if anyone asks … it’s your exercise to be more careful
on October 7th, 2010 at 10:01 amYikes. Reminds me of the time when I was in a bath and I uh accidently dropped it in the place where I had forgotten I didn’t put the lid down. It was clean (of course), and it barely got wet lol I panicked and quickly pulled it out. I hope your copy is still readable.
on October 8th, 2010 at 2:52 pm[...] Am Not a Serial Killer by Dan Wells: I saw Natasha’s post mentioning the sequel to this book and when I saw it at the library I couldn’t pass it by. [...]
on October 8th, 2010 at 4:15 pmmy mother used to drop books in the bath on a regular basis. that is why I only take showers…lol
on October 8th, 2010 at 4:19 pmnow, I did have books caught in the rain, and sodden…but they dried out ok. all wrinkled up, but readable.
That’s too bad! I remember the previous post that you linked to – and I had commented on that one about a book I dumped coke on. Thankfully I haven’t done anything like that since then. I do have a special beat up book that I have reserved just for bathtub reading, but since it’s becoming a rare thing for me to take a bath, I haven’t made much progress on it.
on October 9th, 2010 at 9:42 pmI must confess I am a bath reader and have waterlogged a few but have yet to submerge one completely (knock on wood).
