A Celebration of Picture Books!
If you caught my last post, you’ll know that I’m eagerly awaiting the 2010 Cybils awards to get underway. I can’t wait until October 1st when nominations for our favorite children’s and young adult books for the past year begin.
But what to do between now and October 1st? I don’t know about you but I’m going to be celebrating picture books! For the next 10 days, here on the Maw Books Blog, you will find reviews of picture books! I have a considerable size stack of picture books around here that I’ve been wanting to share with you. And anticipating my upcoming role as a panelist for the Cybils Fiction Picture Books, what a better way to celebrate than with a celebration of picture books?
I do have a fair amount of these reviews written already so while those are being posted I can concentrate on writing up reviews for all those other books in the stacks: adult fiction, young adult fiction, middle grade fiction and non-fiction. So if picture books aren’t your thing (SHAME!) no worries, you’ll find other reviews coming soon!

Congratulations! I read the Cybils announcement first. Glad to see you got on the panel again this year! I was fortunate enough to get on Graphic Novels again this year, too! Can’t wait to see the nominations coming in and can’t wait to put my own nominations up!

Funny, though, how some of MY favorite picture books don’t resonate with the 5 year old, while there are a few that HE loves that makes me go “eh”. Always need the kid’s opinion!
