Bloggiesta – The Finish Line

Bloggiesta: PedroYou made it!  The finish line!  THANK YOU so much for participating in Bloggiesta!  I am in awe that we had more than 160 bloggers participate this weekend!  I  don’t know about you but I am utterly exhausted.  But WOW!  Blogs were literally changing before my eyes, and bloggers were learning all kinds of helpful tips and tricks.

I hope you enjoyed the mini-challenges from:  Kim and Jackie at the Blog Improvement Project (@kimthedork and @farmlanebooks), Jennifer at Girls Gone Reading (@girlsgonereadin), Sarah at Puss Reboots (@pussreboots), Pam from MotherReader (@MotherReader), Danielle at There’s a Book (@the1stdaughter), Cass at Bonjour Cass (@bonjourcass).   Thank you ladies for hosting.  I couldn’t have done it without you!

With my blog issues this weekend, I have failed to list what the prizes are!  Don’t you just love working without knowing what you’re working for?  I haven’t forgotten and still plan on getting a list of prizes up.  If you participated in Bloggiesta, you are eligible for prizes.   Bloggers who completed mini-challenges will have extra chances to win.  Expect winner notification by the end of the week.

Please sign the Mr. Linky again (I know, again!) with the direct link to your final summary post. This is a totally selfish move on my part and helps me make sure I don’t miss any of them.  I really want to read your feedback!  Let me know how many hours you spent on the challenge, the mini-challenges you participated in, how many comments you left other bloggers, what you accomplished, what you liked best and any constructive criticism you might have.  I have some ideas on things I need to change to make administration a little smoother on my end, but, all in all, I’m pretty happy with how things went. I also need some ideas for mini-challenges for the next Bloggiesta which is in January.

After signing the Mr. Linky to your final summary post, leave me a comment and tell me what one thing you accomplished that you are most happy about.  And remember . . . Plan.  Edit.  Develop.  Review.  Organize.

Bloggiesta Finish Line

Hasta la vista!

P.S. You have until 8am on Monday to continue the Bloggiesta!

  1. THANK YOU for hosting this, Natasha! I needed to do all of that work, and this was prime opportunity.

I don’t have a lot of constructive criticism, since this was my first bloggiesta. I wish I could have commented more on others’ blogs, but I plan on tackling that in these finishing posts (I may be late to that party, but I at least bring dessert).

  2. Thank you for hosting this. I was especially challenged to get back into the blogging community more… to visit others’ blogs, leave more comments, and follow those I enjoy! I think that will definitely help keep me motivated and inspired.

  3. Okay, again with my annoying remarks, but the name of my blog (per Linky) is WRONG again! lol

But the link works, so I guess we’re good.

Thanks for hosting this great event, and now that I’ve got two of them behind me, I’m beginning to feel like a veteran.

  4. Thank you so much for hosting this! I can’t imagine the amount of time and effort this took on your part – it was great!

I am most happy that I cleared out my goggle reader and organized it into folders -it was long overdue!

  5. Thank you for a great weekend! I appreciate how much hard work YOU put into this.

This was my first bloggiesta and I loved every minute of it, especially the twitter chat.

I accomplished tons and am most proud of finally having a blog that looks good. (thank you for the help)

I will for sure be here for the next one.

  6. I am tickled pink about my favicon. Tickled. Pink. And I am thrilled I got to meet so many great bloggers. This is such a fantastic community!

  7. As always, this was fun, helpful and informative! It was especially fun to see so many new (at least to me) blogs. Thanks for your hard work, Natasha and mini-challenge hosts!

  8. As thrilled as I am with all the wonderful changes to my blog I think the one thing that made me the happiest was visiting all the blogs I did. I found so many new blogs to follow and really enjoyed visiting and commenting! Again, thanks so much for hosting this event! It rocked!

  9. Natasha, many thanks for hosting such a fun Bloggiesta! I’ve participated all three times, and loved the dedicated Bloggiesta feed. (If we had that previously, I must not have been paying close enough attention.) I loved finding new-to-me blogs to discover, even if it means an exploding Google Reader.

Great job – and congrats to you!

  10. I was most happy with managing to stop by everyone’s blogs :) It was so great to see so many awesome blogs.

  12. Thanks so much for hosting the marathon! I got so much done today, and I have a lot more planned for the coming weeks. It was a lot of fun. Can’t wait till next go round in January!

  13. This is my first time and I wish I had more time to spend on it this weekend. I did write a review and pick a winner for a contest so some of my goals were accomplished. :)

    on June 13th, 2010 at 9:37 pm
  14. This was my first time to join in and I arrived late last night!
I am most happy that I created a book rating system

I really appreciate all you did and I look forward to doing this again! I will participate more in January especially in the mini-challenges :)

Thank you ALL sooo much for allowing this opportunity! It was fun and I learned so much!

  15. I am happiest about quitting some reading challenges. I have a hard time with defeat, so I would have never even considered it before. Because of Bloggiesta, I put it on the list and once I did, I HAD to do it. It was liberating. I cut the challenges in half and now have breathing room for the rest of the year. YAY for Bloggiesta! And YAY for you too, Natasha!

  16. The thing I’m the happiest about, I think, is making some shelf space in my bookshelves. Over time we added things that weren’t books and had no place there, so cleaning that up looks much better and also gives us more place for new books!
The second thing would be the reviews. I still have MANY more to do, but the six I did I like, and I’m good with that!
Thanks for the fun everyone! :D

    on June 13th, 2010 at 10:07 pm
  17. Thanks again for hosting this! I don’t know which one thing I would pick. I’m glad about everything I got done but still have a long list to get through. lol.

    on June 13th, 2010 at 10:37 pm
  18. Since I just updated my blog with a new look, I had A LOT to do. The biggest things I think I accomplished came in moving everything to feedburner (which I didn’t actually write about, weird eh?), and then to get those new pages up and running. I literally spent three hours on that silly About page because I was so paranoid about not sounding professional AND friendly at the same time. I finally got it though. Also, that blogroll took me probably five hours. It doesn’t look like it, but I had SO much problem solving to work through to finally just get to putting it on its own page. I’m not completely satisfied, but it will do for now!

Thanks for this Natasha! You’re awesome, and I appreciate having other friends out there working on similar goals, with nothing else in mind but to support and cheer one another on in their goals. Thanks for being a positive lead in the community!

    on June 13th, 2010 at 10:49 pm
  19. I guess I’m happiest about actually getting some time in this weekend! It was really packed, so it’s kind of a miracle I even got in the 15 or so hours I got! Plus, I started a new “double feature” that I hope will actually have more than one post. Thanks for hosting (and darn, I missed the photo mini-challenge, but it looked like fun)!

    on June 13th, 2010 at 11:12 pm
  20. I’m thrilled that I was able to tidy up my blog, I’m really into neat and orderly :)
I’m proud of myself for attempting to make major changes even though I wasn’t able to execute them. I’m learning with each try though and eventually I can usually figure it out.
Thanks for a fun event, it’s one I always enjoy participating in.

    on June 13th, 2010 at 11:37 pm
  21. I’m happiest about making my own unique rating system for book reviews, though I’m also pretty thrilled about figuring out how to get my feedback button up and working!

    on June 14th, 2010 at 12:17 am
  22. I’m most proud about getting all three blogs organized and old files cleaned out. Getting my reader organized was one thing I never thought I would tackle but I did! Thank you for hosting I have learned a lot about me and what I can do…

    on June 14th, 2010 at 12:33 am
  23. Natasha, thanks for hosting this I got loads accomplished and learned a lot in the process. My favorite I think was gaining information about improving my posts.

    on June 14th, 2010 at 1:27 am
  24. You rock! Thank you for hosting such an awesome event!!

The accomplishment I’m most happiest about is being able to visit and comment on over 200 blogs!! (And the fact that I’ve blogged for 23 hours this weekend!!) :D

    Book ? Soulmates

  25. Natasha, thank you so much for hosting Bloggiesta. It was my first time participating and I will definitely participate next time as well if the time just suits in my schelude.
    I had so much fun!

I blogged 24 hours during the weekend, of which I am really happy about. I thought I would not be able to do that since the world cup started etc. I am happy that I was able to change my layout and I also copied my reviews to Goodreads, wrote something like 11 reviews and othe posts.

  26. Thank you so much for hosting this!!! I had so much fun, and I accomplished so much!

    on June 14th, 2010 at 3:18 am
  27. It was great! Especially with guacamole! I spent over 6 hours – unheard of for me – on blog improvements and writing. This was just the boost I needed! I have to admit to only leaving one comment on another blog. My bad. However, I will try to visit some this week.

Cannot wait to do this again!

    on June 14th, 2010 at 4:06 am
  28. Thanks so much for organizing this opportunity – without Bloggiesta, I may have spent the weekend doing laundry or something else non-blog productive! I am proud of everything that I did this weekend, but I am most proud of taking the time to organize my goals for my blog, and setting up templates so that I can be more efficient in the future.

    on June 14th, 2010 at 5:11 am
  29. Thanks for hosting this again! I had so much fun in January’s Bloggiesta that I’ve been anxiously waiting for this one since about February.

My biggest accomplishment? Catching up on my review backlog! I had about a dozen reviews that needed to be written at the beginning of the weekend, and I finished them all last night!

    on June 14th, 2010 at 5:42 am
  30. I didn’t keep track of my hours or record which mini-challenges I did. Sorry, I missed that rule.
I had so much fun! That’s for hosting. Really looking forward to next time.

  31. Thank you so much for hosting this! It was definitely a learning experience. I had lots of fun too. I really enjoyed finding so many books blogs.

  32. The goal I’m happiest about completing is cleaning up tags and old posts. It was tedious-but I’m so glad it’s done.

I’m also glad I found so many great new book blogs.

  33. Thank you so much for hosting this awesome event. I got so much done on my blog – the biggest thing is that I was able to reorganize my layout.

I am looking forward to the next Bloggiesta!

PS – When I signed in the McLinky before (#67) I forgot to add the name of my blog after my name – it’s Always with a Book – sorry about that – I’m a bit scattered this morning as I am going in for surgery in a few hours…this event really helped my keep my mind off things this weekend so an extra thank you for that!!!

    on June 14th, 2010 at 6:20 am
  34. OK so it may look like my link is just to a review, but my accomplishments are listed below it. I didn’t want to do two posts on the same day. Only got halfway done, and the stuff I did do didn’t take too long. It was a bad Bloggiesta weekend for me.

  36. Thank you so much for hosting! I didn’t have a lot of time, so I was sort of on the fringe of things. Hopefully I’ll get to visit some other blogs and take part in the Twitter chatter next time! I’m happiest that I got my blog moved to its own domain, but I cheated and did that Thursday night. In the official time frame, I’m happiest that I got my navbar sorted out the way I intended.

    on June 14th, 2010 at 6:47 am
  37. This was really fun. I think the thing I’m most happy about is getting my feed reader organised. It was really quite scary before I added folders!

I’m also really glad that I’ve found so many great new blogs to read (and to fill my reader up with again!)

  38. Bloggiesta is an weekend event hosted at Maw Books Blog. I had a tough time figuring out that it was a way to set goals for a blog related activity to help make us better bloggers.

Mine challenges were to learn more about RSS and figure out if mine was right – it was; to learn how to do signatures and make badges work and I did. I also figured out how to live blog from Twitter. Now you can also follow me on the Twitterverse @fangswandsfairy or: http://twitter.com/fangswandsfairy. I also read at least one article from the volunteered challenges.

So I feel I accomplished a lot by learning these things. Doing so took some time and a new mindset but it was well spent. Hey guys, let me know if I had it wrong.

    on June 14th, 2010 at 7:12 am
  39. Thanks for hosting! I got a lot done that I would still be procrastinating on if it weren’t bloggiesta. I am most happy about the progress I made on some behind-the-scenes projects.

    on June 14th, 2010 at 8:11 am
  40. Thanks so much for hosting…I got so much accomplished but I think my favorite part was the time to be more creative and “think outside the box” while hanging out with fellow bloggers, I loved that we worked together to make our sites better. It was a great feeling of community…I also am very excited to be very close to the point of hosting my very own reading challenge very soon. Thanks for a great event as always!

  41. Thank you so much Natasha – kuddos to you or all the hard work!

I learned so much this weekend. My favorite part of the Bloggiesta, though, was “meeting” new people. :)

  46. Thank you soooo much for a fantastic event.

I am most happy about getting some of my reviews out of the way…and having a few posts for the future. I just wish there was one more day for me to complete all my reviews…LOL!!!

I learned a lot this weekend about RSS Feeds and blog stats.

This was a great and successful event and I will definitely participate in the next one.

  47. This was SO much fun, Natasha! Thanks for hosting such a marvelous event! I learned so much and was able to meet such great bloggers and get introduced to amazing blogs. :)

I wasn’t able to put as many hours into the event as I would have liked to – maybe only 10 or so – but it gave me a great start for everything I still need to accomplish. I participated in both of your mini-challenges and although I commented on other blogs as well as on Twitter, I didn’t get to participate in any of the mini-challenges other bloggers had posted.

Thanks again, it was so much fun and I’m already looking forward to January’s Bloggiesta! :)

  49. I’m happy I finally updated Wordpress. I’ve been putting it off forever, and it ended up being not nearly as painful as I was expecting.

    on June 14th, 2010 at 12:13 pm
  50. I am so glad I signed up for this! I don’t spend time online on the weekends but I did just for this and I’m glad I did. I got a lot done and I learned a lot too.

I’m so glad I did the RSS mini-challenge. I didn’t really understand it or how important it is, but after reading about it, I realized it’s easy and necessary! I think that’s the best thing that happened to me this weekend.

    on June 14th, 2010 at 12:31 pm
  51. Thanks for hosting such a fun event. I did finish last night but was kicked off our hotel wi-fi as I was posting so I’m linking to you a little late today (thank you, Whole Foods). I need to finish a few tidying jobs and read more of the helping posts but I’m happy I got a few things accomplished!!

  54. I think the one thing I’m most happy about is setting up some pages for my blog, especially a challenge page. I haven’t made them public yet because I only have two pages written. I still want to make one for reviews and maybe one more.

I really enjoyed my first Bloggiesta experience. Now that I know about it I will be better prepared for January with some ideas.

    on June 14th, 2010 at 4:08 pm
  55. Thank you for hosting this. It’s been a wonderful experience.

The one thing I’m most pleased with accomplishing? That’s so hard to choose. I might say the to do list itself but that was prep work done before 8AM Friday. So the next two things I can’t choose between. Probably because their so linked as I was doing them simultaneously and that is the organization of my note and draft keeping ap and the creation of the Reading Challenge portal post for my blog. The two are linked because I first had to hunt down, research, and collect the info about the challenges before putting together the portal post that will track my status from now on. That project took most of Friday evening through late Saturday night.

    on June 14th, 2010 at 4:24 pm
  56. You are so so welcome Natasha! That mini-challenge seemed to be just what everyone was looking for and I’m glad I could help.

As for the biggest accomplishment…would definitely have to be posting all my reviews to goodreads, amazon, b&n and library thing. That was crazy and I’m not quite done, but almost. Huge accomplishment. It also helped me make sure I had all my reviews in my back-up link spreadsheet, so that was great!

    Thank you again for hosting!

    on June 14th, 2010 at 6:39 pm
  57. Thank you SO MUCH for getting my rear in gear! I feel a huge sense of accomplishment and got so much done in one marathon day. I can’t wait to do twice as much next time, because the challenges looked terrific. It was all I could do to get my cleanup underway; I really didn’t have time to write about it much. But that’s OK. I had been procrastinating all this work, but no more. Thanks to you.

    on June 14th, 2010 at 7:29 pm
  58. You probably dont need or want this award but it is my way of saying thank you for all you did during bloggiesta.

  60. I have participated in all 3 Bloggiesta’s and each time I have learned a little something more. This time I became a bit braver with the CSS codes and I am thrilled at the changes I have made. I also think the new leader is one I will be happy with for a long time to come.

Thank you Natasha! Bloggiesta was a blast!

  65. I’m sorry to be adding my link this late, but I was away at the time your post went up and just got home.

I am most proud of having finally checked out how the scheduling function works & writing up posts in advance for the first time. I also liked looking through all of the tips the mini-challenges provided. I am a bit slow and am still mulling much of it over in my mind, but they did really help.
