It’s day two of Bloggista! And what in the world was I thinking that there would likely be fewer participants in the summer than in January?  Holy smokes, we surpassed that the first afternoon! We are well over 150 fiesta goers.

I know everybody is doing an awesome job spiffing up their blogs, learning new techniques, and generally challenging themselves to be better and braver bloggers.

Today, I have a surprise mini-challenge for you! And it’s going to be FUN!

You see, the best part about Bloggiesta is the FIESTA!  Here we are having a fantastic party (only we bloggers can call alphabetizing our reviews and cleaning up our tags a party!) but yet we are in our own separate little worlds.  Let’s bring all that together.

Your surprise mini-challenge:

• Take a photo of yourself (or if one of the reasons you are blogging is simply because you DON’T have to show photos of yourself, then get creative) showing off something that you are doing during Bloggiesta.  Enjoying your guacamole and chips like Pedro is?  Let’s see it!  Are you donning a sombrero hat while frantically typing away in front of the computer?  Let’s see it!  You get the idea.  The crazier the better.

So here’s the deal.  If you take on the challenge, I will randomly choose one brave soul to win a $15 gift certificate to the bookstore of their choice. I will post all the photos  here on my blog TOMORROW.  It will be an awesome virtual party!

So how do you submit your photo you ask?   Well, in order to make it as simple as possible for me (I know – I’m very selfish.  I might find myself posting a hundred photos!) I need you to do exactly the following:

To submit a photo:

1. Take your awesome photo!
2. Upload your photo to the image hosting/photo sharing service of your choice.  For example: photobucket, Picasa, or even uploaded to your own server.
3. Email me at natasha (at) mawbooks (dot) com with Bloggiesta Photo in the subject line.
4. Format your email as follows:
   1. Name at Blog Name
   2. Blog URL
   3. @Twitter name (if you have one)
   4. Twitter profile URL
   5. The URL of the  photo
   6. Photo caption

   Example:

   1. Natasha at Maw Books
   2. http://blog.mawbooks.com
   3. @mawbooks
   4. http://twitter.com/mawbooks
   5. http://blog.mawbooks.com/wp-content/uploads/XXX.jpg
   6. We whipped up some awesome tacos and margaritas – but virgin as I don’t drink , so don’t be alarmed by the four-year-old with the drink in his hand.  I swear, it’s just really flavored ice!

Submitting exactly like this will help me a TON!  I will be able to simply copy and paste your information without any fuss.  And yes, I will be hotlinking to your photo! (FYI – a practice that I generally wouldn’t recommend as normal procedure.  In blogging, you should always plan on hosting your photos yourself rather than piggy-backing on somebody else’s bandwidth).  I’m not planning on uploading dozens and dozens of photos to my server.

Make sure that I can access your URL!  If you need help with being unsure where or how to upload your photo somewhere just let me know.

You have until 10:00 pm MST tonight (Saturday) to complete this challenge! And then make sure you come back here on Sunday to check out everybody’s photos.

Let’s have some serious fun with this.  Don’t let me down!!  (Otherwise you will just see the single photo which I just described above and I’ll treat myself to $15 of bookish goodness)
