I almost always find a treasure that takes me by surprise!!! Though I have to admit, I haven't been to a big one in so long. My current library just has permanent shelves up that I browse every time I go in. And, it is not uncommon for me to find a book (or my son to find one) that we just can't live without! It looks like you found some good ones this time around!! I also wanted to say that I think it is amazing that you are reading all of the Newberry winners! I plan to someday as well, but am currently trying to get through all the Caldecott first! It's taking me a while, but I'm finding some great ones!! I love, love, love library book sales! The past couple of sales, I couldn't find much on the last day. But today I was either feeling less picky or we got lucky. We found quite a few transportation themed picture books and some nonfiction that my little guy will love. Maybe it helps that he is getting older, because the selection is always slim on the board book level (if you insist on your books of the unchewed variety). I never make it into the adult sections for more than 5 minutes. We did pretty well with the picture books today. The past couple of sales, I couldn’t find much on the last day.
