When I’m Not Reading . . .
. . . I am finally basking in our warm weather and my spring garden!
I grow a perennial garden for each season, so it’s constantly changing. I love gardening so much that I’m sure I won’t be able to help share more photos with you as the growing season progresses. Anybody else out there have a green thumb?
Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

Your flowers are gorgeous!
on April 20th, 2010 at 11:26 amThese are absolutely beautiful pictures….spent the entire weekend in the garden and could not move come Monday. Would do it all again!!!
on April 20th, 2010 at 11:35 amJust gorgeous, Natasha. I wish mine was as colorful already. I managed to prune the roses and clean out the irises and pots. Now I need to tackle the vegetable bed.
on April 20th, 2010 at 1:14 pmSo beautiful! Please do share more pictures! Can I ask, what is the first purple flower, and the second-to-last red one with yellow centers? I grow veggies, but am trying to put some flowers on the edges this year, too….
on April 20th, 2010 at 1:59 pmLove this! I just hate that they’re saying we might get snow this week?!? I suppose we do usually get that last snowstorm that makes us all scratch our heads, but I’m ready for it to not be winter at all!
I really don’t have much a of a green thumb for landscaping sorts of items. We always planted a garden, so I’m actually pretty good with vegetables. I love watching a garden grown and produce wonderful veggies. So fun!
on April 20th, 2010 at 2:32 pmThanks everybody!
Jeane – The top flower is Anemone blanda ‘Blue Shades.’ It is a bulb so you will want to plant them this fall. They are supposed to spread each year, but I didn’t plant nearly enough, so plant more than you think you need.
The second one that you asked about is a Pasque Flower ‘Anemone pulatilla.’ It is a perennial and what I love about this flower is that when it is done blooming, it has the most awesome seedhead that ads texture to the garden.
I can’t wait to get our vegetable garden going. We are going out of town soon, so I’m trying to prep right now and then as soon as we get back, hitting that big time.
on April 20th, 2010 at 2:48 pmYou are so talented Natasha! Myself, I have a BLACK thumb. And that is pretty tough in Florida where everything grows! A college friend of mine, who lives in Southern Florida just started a gardening blog. She is really nice, and a very talented and obsessed gardener. Her blog is: gardeninparadise at blogspot dot com
on April 20th, 2010 at 3:08 pmWow, you are quite talented. And a good photographer too. Those pink tulips make you glad to be alive.
on April 20th, 2010 at 3:13 pmLast year, I was enjoying (well, some of the time) having a big yard with plenty of planting space. This year, I’m limited to a balcony. Right now, I’ve got radishes and carrots. I guess I’m more of a practical planter, though I’d love to have room for flowers again sometime soon!
on April 20th, 2010 at 3:28 pmOh my, these are so beautiful! I want a huge garden. My dad has the best green thumb and all my life I tried to convince myself that I did as well but after killing more plants than I wish to talk about I realized having “my” plant in his garden was probably the only thing keeping those plants alive while I was growing up.
I’m not giving up though.
on April 20th, 2010 at 3:47 pmLovely.
on April 20th, 2010 at 4:04 pmPretty! Our tulips and daffodils are blooming, too–love this time of year.
on April 20th, 2010 at 4:21 pmYour flowers are so pretty. I am jealous. My sister and I live together and neither one of us is good about watering so most of the plants we have dont’ do so good. lol I love moss roses because they are easy and low maintence.
on April 20th, 2010 at 4:34 pmGreat photos! What a fabulous garden! I love flowers but don’t enjoy gardening, so we try to plant very low maintenance plants.
on April 20th, 2010 at 4:35 pmThose are gorgeous! I love flowers but between the dogs and the constant southern exposure, I can’t grow anything but roses. I would love to see more pictures of your garden; it means I can live vicariously through you!
on April 20th, 2010 at 6:53 pmtulips and daffodils! loves!!
my mom is a florist and loved gardening, so grew up with flowers all over the place. it’s all very nostalgic for me.
thanks for sharing!
on April 20th, 2010 at 7:42 pmLove that purple!
on April 20th, 2010 at 9:13 pmO.k. I love your flowers. I wish I had your mad gardening skills, but alas, I didn’t inherit a green thumb.
on April 20th, 2010 at 10:45 pmHow beautiful! I am so jealous! I wish we had the space for an outside garden but living in the SF we don’t so I utilize my greenthumb with lots of potted plants. Yours is droolworthy. Keep the pics coming!
on April 20th, 2010 at 11:14 pmlovely! keep posting photos of your gardening skills and I’ll be a peeping Barbara. I don’t have the green thumb! Thanks so much for sharing.
on April 21st, 2010 at 11:42 amI wish I had a green thumb. Unfortunately mine is completely flesh-colored. I think it would help if I had a house.
on April 21st, 2010 at 2:15 pmI have a green thumb and used to live in a climate where I would use bulbs, irises, daphne, lilac etc. I had a garden that people would come and take photos…
…And then I moved to the outback and most of the plants I loved just can’t grow.
Your garden is wonderful, and I too understand the deep satisfaction that comes from gardening.
on April 21st, 2010 at 3:39 pmNatasha, Your pictures are beautiful. I’m so impressed that you have so many flowers blooming already. Mine aren’t doing much at all yet.
on April 21st, 2010 at 8:41 pmYour flowers are beautiful! Last year I focused on flowers, this year I’m planning on attending more to our vegetable garden. Maybe some year I will have time to really make both great.
on April 22nd, 2010 at 1:55 pmOh, these are lovely! Please do keep sharing. It gives spring hope to those of us that live in this concrete block called NYC.
on April 23rd, 2010 at 7:37 amBeautiful. You’re amazing. I have a lot of lovely dandelions around my house. Anyone want to see pictures of those?
