Hunger Game Fans! Check Out the Book Cover & Title for Book Three!
Announced today from Scholastic:
The third and final book in the Hunger Games trilogy is Mockingjay. To tell you the truth, I don’t think the name appeals to me in the same way Hunger Games and Catching Fire does but frankly, I don’t care. August 24th can’t get here fast enough.
Want to know what will be in this last installment? David Levithan (VP Editorial Director, Scholastic) tells you five things that won’t be appearing in the book.
Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

I agree! I don’t really like the title either. Its not as powerful as the other titles. I like the color…could that be a sign of hope that the series will end well?
Thanks for posting about this.
on February 11th, 2010 at 6:26 amI seen this post on my reader and flew, ran, ok…clicked my way right here. Mockingjay does not seem to be the right title. I am trying to think of what would be a great name but apparently have no creative juices flowing yet this morning.
Maybe the mockingjay will play a significant role in this final book. I just marked the release date in my agenda.
on February 11th, 2010 at 7:20 amOh man, oh man, I am so excited! I’m thinking along the same lines as Serena, the cover color seems more hopeful, not so dark and dreary. But the color and title almost seems too happy to go with what I love about the story. Maybe I’m just having issues because it seems like it is going to end on a happy note and I just don’t want it to end.
Oh August 24th you are so bittersweet.
on February 11th, 2010 at 9:12 amVery excited for the third book!!! I like the cover, the blue is very nice.
on February 11th, 2010 at 10:40 amOh for Pete’s sake, I go over to your link thinking I’ll get something juicy! I’m not totally thrilled with the title either, but you are right – who cares? Just publish the darned thing already.
on February 11th, 2010 at 11:13 amI like the title and the cover. The Mockingjay is the “key” to the whole rebellion. Cant Wait!!!
on February 11th, 2010 at 1:55 pmI kinda like the title, though I’m not in love with the cover – I do like the suggestion that the Mockingjay is going to stay central to the story.
(I just got very worried that Peeta is going to die. I don’t want Peeta to die!)
