I am stoked to read your perspective and see that it appeals to non-baseball households too. I am convinced that children's books are the best way to learn about anything. I'd also recommend the book Bad News for Outlaws, about Marshall Bass Reeves. Great post. And Mr. Nelson is awfully cute. Coming from a house where baseball is HUGE – we loved it!
