When I’m Not Reading . . .
. . . I can be found playing basketball on Thursday nights.

Well, it would have been nice if I had a picture of myself with the ball, but such is life.
I loved playing basketball in junior high and high school (I was never on any teams except for church) and it’s always been my sport of choice. Too bad I’ve only made like 5 points in our 5 games thus far and we haven’t won a game yet. But it’s fun.
I also feel like I’m going to die whenever I play.
Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

I love it! I find that my blogging and reading habits are sedentary enough that I have to get some of that energy out of my system. I’ve often toyed with the idea of picking up a basketball again, or maybe playing the French Horn again!
on February 5th, 2010 at 6:00 amWe want to see a video!
on February 5th, 2010 at 7:39 amI love it! You look good in uniform! I want to share some picks from when I go and play bocce but I am waiting until I get a few more recent ones.
Basketball is a great workout, but I never picked up the habit of playing.
on February 5th, 2010 at 9:16 amAw, how fun! I would love to be able to play. Do you watch basketball too? My hubby and I are huge nba fans (well, orlando magic anyway, hehe)
on February 5th, 2010 at 10:13 amSandy – I’ve never played an instrument unless you count my flute unit when I was in fourth grade!
Kathy – Oh no you don’t!
Nicole – I’ve never played bocce. In fact, I’m not even 100% sure what it is. I think I’m off to Google it.
Jenny – Nope, we don’t watch ANY sports in our house. That includes my husband who would rather be doing anything else and doesn’t see the appeal at all. When I was little we would go to a lot of the Jazz games. Those were always fun.
on February 5th, 2010 at 10:38 amWow! I’m impressed! I was on the swim team in high school..the closest to any sport I’ve ever played!
on February 5th, 2010 at 10:48 amI agree with Kathy, we DEFINITELY need a video. What fun!
on February 5th, 2010 at 10:48 amI would love to see a video of you playing…and besides as long as you are having fun, it doesn’t matter how many points you score.
on February 5th, 2010 at 12:36 pmLook at you — you look awesome!
When I’m not reading, I’m sitting on my butt eating ice cream.
on February 5th, 2010 at 1:07 pmToo fun! I played in high school and was co-captain. We went to state my senior year. Brings back memories
That’s cool you found a league. Don’t worry if you don’t win, just have fun!
on February 5th, 2010 at 1:38 pmLove it! do you need a statistician? VERY long time ago, I was statistician for our hs girls jv and v basketball team. And yes, I was the nerd with no athletic ability whatsoever. I had a great time. thanks for sharing this and bringing back fond memories!
on February 5th, 2010 at 1:51 pmThis is great! I play floor hockey on Sunday evenings and yup – I know that “feel like you are going to die” feeling…LOL
on February 5th, 2010 at 2:11 pmI wish there was a women’s league near my house! How fun!!

on February 5th, 2010 at 4:49 pmHow interesting! I love learning more about your life (doesn’t that sound kind of creepy
on February 5th, 2010 at 8:08 pmGreat photos! It’s always nice to learn a little about people’s lives outside of blogging.
on February 5th, 2010 at 8:10 pmHow fun to see you doing un-bookish things! I second the video suggestion. And oh, the memories. Playing church sports were a high point for me, too, way back when.
on February 6th, 2010 at 9:10 amYou look kind of frightened in those pics.
I didn’t like basketball in middle school. I’m not a big fan of sports where objects fly at my head.
on February 7th, 2010 at 11:56 pmAh, I’m glad to see another athletic book blogger!
