It's part of a series, but it's not a series where you'll be confused without having read the first two. I loved The Creative Family, probably more than her second book. We had a very similar experience, and I wished I had skimmed it a little more closely before checking it out from the library. My daughters loved both Wolves and Little Mouse's Big Book of Fears. Will be interested to hear what a non-romance reader thinks of it. I do find it a very interesting choice for a non-romance focussed book club to choose! Hope you enjoy all your loot.
