In the beginning i had to get used to the language of Abileen. We read it in our bookclub in Shanghai where we all have fulltime help. We had some interesting discussions about the comparison of helpers in the book and that time & place and nowadays in Shanghai! I agree with you, this is a wonderful book which was hard to put away.
