Jean, Reagan, you are such an inspiration to us all. I can't imagine going through an event like you have. You are amazing. I am sure your book is amazing, also.
Best of luck with your book, Jean.

Oh how sad for her and her family! I'm glad that her experience could produce something like this to help other families going through similar situations.

Thank you, everyone!

Knowing my book might help ease the pain of grieving families motivated me to keep working even when it was difficult. So, your kind words mean a lot. Thanks.

And, thanks, Natasha!

A great interview. I am a little teary here as I lost my sister at a young age to a house fire. I remember those first times you laugh afterward and you are almost ashamed. It feels so wrong. A book like this at a time that my mom was hurting so badly too that she could not always console me would have been something good.

How touching and also a bit chilling to realize that the book was written from such a personal experience. The fact that the author was able to step back in order to write something that will no doubt help many others is a testomony to her strength and fortitude.

Wonderful interview. I met Jean briefly at the Rutgers University Council on Children's Literature conference last year. I did not know about her debut picture book or the story behind it. I'm both saddened and thrilled at the same time. Thank you for sharing your story, Jean. This kind of book is definitely needed and will be a help to so many families. Brava!
