Leonardo the Terrible Monster by Mo Willems

Book Cover: Leonardo the Terrible MonsterMy boys can not get enough of Leonardo the Terrible Monster by Mo Willems which we’ve been reading in anticipation for Halloween although I would stress that although great for Halloween with its monster theme is a great everyday picture book.  And I must admit (although embarrassing), that Mo Willems is a new addition to our household.  But he’s been welcomed with open arms.

I have a fun video for you of us reading Leonardo the Terrible Monster together.  At one point, it gets most rambunctious.  Another book that we will be sad to return to the library and will be added to boys permanent wish list.

  3. I was scared by all of the roaring :) My little girl is hooked on “Silly Billy” from our library. It’s about a little boy who worries a lot. We’ve read it every night for the past week. I’m ready for a new pick now :)

  4. What a great way to review a book! And such a great way to remember some of their favorite books and their reactions to them. Just adorable. :D

  9. Your boys, as always, are adorable! My boys love Mo Willems’ pigeon books. We have all of them and read them very often. Thanks for the entertaining review!

  10. Oh thank you for this! I’ve bookmarked it in my wish list folder in the Google Reader. My kids love Mo Willems’s Pigeon books, and his Elephant ang Piggie ones, too.

Have you read anything by Melanie Watt? Scaredy Squirrel and Chester (and their sequels) are some of my kids’ best loved books. Be prepared to read these to them “every” night.

  11. My 4 year old is in LOVE with all things Mo Willems! Edwina the Dinosaur is a great one too, but right now we are in a “Pigeon Wants..” phase. These books should be a part of every child’s library — right up there with Dr. Seuss.

    Thanks!

  13. Okay, how cute (and mesmerizing) is this! :) I loved hearing you read the story to your cute boys. Thanks for sharing. Let’s face it, I don’t get around to children’s stories very often, so it’s so fan to have someone fill me in on such cute stories. Thanks!
