Video Chat: Being Overtaken By the Number of Books Read But Not Yet Reviewed

Vlogs/Video ChatsI’ve discovered that my blogging must very much be a seasonal thing because ever since it got warm outside my posting has shifted a bit.  I’m outside playing with my two boys a lot!  But I’m reading the same amount, so the books are piling up waiting to be reviewed.  In this vlog, I share with you the reviews that you can expect here in the next month or so.

I’m also heading out to Bear Lake, Jackson Hole and Yellowstone (without my husband – who “gets” to stay behind.  Wish me luck with my two boys!), so I’ll be offline for a bit but expect to have prescheduled posts.  I literally won’t be touching a computer but will be anxious to find out what I missed while I was gone and  read your comments when I return.  In the vlog, I also share the huge pile of books that I’ve set aside to take with me.  Am I crazy?  I know I’m taking WAY to much with me.  But heck, why not?

What’s your bet? How many of these books do you think I can read while chasing a two-year-old and a three-year-old around Yellowstone?

Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

  1. This was fun to watch. You have so much talent! Loved the books to be reviewed – holy cats! (Yeah… I said cats!)

Have a wonderful time with the boys – I always take way too many books with me wherever I go too…. but you just never know…. :)

  2. Looks like you have a challenging pile to review! I hope you have a good time on your trip. We were there last August and all the kids who were there (approximately a gazillion) just loved it – all those amazing geysers!

  3. Great vlog, as usual. I do have to say that you looked so adorable in this one! The braids, the makeup, the whole look – it’s great! :)

Have a great time on your trip.

  4. I was so far behind, I had 13 reviews waiting to be written. I finally got caught up, and I swear to myself I won’t do that again…(she says as there is an unwritten review waiting patiently on the desk next to the computer)

  5. I am so envious that you are going to Jackson Hole. I remember it being showcased on a travel show while I was in college, some ten years ago, maybe? I was hooked and made a mental note that I wanted to go there sometime in my life.

LOL. Now ten years later, I can’t remember why. Unless I google it right now, I couldn’t tell you anything about it. But, I figure it’s got to be something to leave an impression for this long.

    Cheers. Have fun.

(Oh and can’t wait to read your up and coming reviews!)

  6. That’s a lot of books to review! I have ONE sitting here (I read a lot less than you) and it’s challenging to get done before I forget it.

Have a great vacation. I don’t envy you doing it alone.

  7. You’re going to Yellowstone. Forget the books. Maybe take one for when you’re not driving but mostly just take a camera and have fun. The books and the reviews can wait.

  8. I’m sure you’ll get caught up eventually :-) . Meanwhile, enjoy your boys and the beautiful Grand Tetons! We went to Yellowstone and Jackson Hole last year – I hope to get back there one day.

  9. It was so fun to watch your vlog! I can’t believe you are able to read as much as you do. I have a teenage son (much less labor intensive than running around after two toddlers) and I have trouble finding time to read! Have a wonderful trip…I think you will read 3 books but I wouldn’t be surprised if you managed to read more.

  10. There isn’t a book about bears in that pile? ;)

I don’t read as much as you do, so I’m not really behind in my reviewing. I only wish I could get to a point where I had to catch up! But I agree with pussreboots–you should enjoy the summer and Yellowstone while it lasts. There will be plenty of cold yucky days to catch up with blogging.

  11. What a fun trip you have planned! I have a feeling your kids will fall into bed at night exhausted, so maybe you’ll have some fun reading time then? Either way, enjoy the sights and don’t worry about your reading. We’ll all be here when you get back. :)

  12. I’m behind on blogging this summer too. There is just too much fun to be had to be sitting on the computer. Of course, I haven’t read as much as you either, so I guess it works out.

Have fun in Yellowstone. We went there last year and saw some Bears, among other wildlife. It should be fun for your boys, just keep them on the walkways. You know those hot pots are pretty hot. ;)

  13. Wow, I’d find that pile of books waiting to be reviewed overwhelming. Have a great time on your trek through Yellowstone!

    Have a great trip!

  15. Enjoy your vacation!

  16. I just got back from Yellowstone and Utah! It was a 16-day vacation, and I brought 16 books. I ended up reading 10, which I thought was pretty good. But then, I did much of the reading in the 6 days of nothing-but-car time.

I recently read the Guernsey Literary book. It is FABULOUS. Sweet, funny, touching, memorable, factual, and thoroughly enjoyable. It’s actually a quick read, but it stays with you for a long time so it seems like it was a longer read!

    Enjoy your vacation!

  17. Our video capabilities are blocked at work. :(

Anyway, hope you have a great time on your trip. Scott and I are currently planning a vacation to Yellowstone, maybe next month! I hope to go to the Tetons as well. Scott was shocked and dismayed that I only lived 70 miles away from Yellowstone while at Ricks and never made the trip. I haven’t been to Bear lake in probably 17 years!!!

Enjoy. I think a lot of people are slower over the summer months. I’ve noticed commenting has really slowed down lately for some bloggers.

  18. Ah, Summer. It’s a blessing and a curse at times. I love the slower pace but it’s hard to get motivated when it comes to posting and commenting so I can see why your pile has grown so. But you’ll get to the reviews someday.

Enjoy the time with your boys and we’ll be here when you get to those reviews :)

  19. I love the video idea, it’s always nice to put a face to a name.

I brought about a dozen books with me while on vacation earlier this month and ended up buying some while visiting a local bookstore. I too like to bring a variety to select from.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday and wishing you a great summer.

  20. Wow! Lots of books.

    Enjoy Yellowstone! It’s so fun.

  21. Cute vlog! Love the interruption for a diaper change. :-)
I look forward to some of your reviews and will save my thoughts until you get them up.
Have fun on your trip. I always take more books that I read when I travel. Especially when you consider the fact that I always buy new books when I travel.

  22. Oh, I think you’ll get more than 2 books read in 10 days. The boys sleep sometime, don’t they? :)

Have a nice trip! Enjoy Yellowstone.

  23. I think you’ve chosen some great reads to take along! I can definitely understand the summer slowdown. I don’t even have a reason to not feel like blogging, but the weather’s nice and I’d rather sit outside and read than sit at my computer and write reviews.

    Have a great trip!

  24. Don’t you just love those little video interruptions…candid video is great. Your kiddo is too cute.

Have a great time traveling with the boys and here’s to hoping that you read more than 2 books.
