Twilight Fans! A Graphic Novel is On It’s Way!

twilight-manga

Well, since I haven’t written a Twilight or Stephenie Meyer post for a bit, I thought I would bring you this news which I discovered via Tracy at Bookroom Reviews this morning.

EW made this announcement yesterday,

For those of you who can’t get enough Edward and Bella, EW can announce — exclusively — that Yen Press will be publishing Twilight in graphic-novel form, publication date still to be determined. Though Korean artist Young Kim is creating the art, Meyer herself is deeply immersed in the project, reviewing every panel.

The EW that hits newsstands tomorrow, will have finished, colored illustrations for you to check out.

This will be really interesting!   I must admit that I am really, really curious and would definitely check it out when published.  And of course, Twilight fans will eat this up.  What do you think?

  1. Hmmmm . . . . I just saw this topic via Twitter. As for me, I’m not a die-hard fan, but still enjoyed the books. Would I go out and buy it? I don’t know. I think it really depends on the artwork for me. Maybe I need to check out the illustrations in EW . . .

  2. Even though I am not a huge fan of the series, I would probably read a graphic novel, but ONLY if the library had a copy… I don’t buy many graphic novels as a rule and I am just not a big enough fan of the overall series… Still sounds interesting, though.

  3. I suppose I will pass. I read the series, and it was OK, but having just seen the newest Harry Potter movie, I was reminded that anything Twilight, movie or book, pales in comparison. I always get a little irked when it appears the franchise is being milked…

  6. Er, I’m not too sure about this one. How are they going to make his skin sparkle?

  7. I might take a look at the graphic novel to see if I like it or not. I never read Coraline but saw the movie and loved it. I couldn’t see how the graphic novel could make improvements but it was interesting to see someone else’s take on the characters.

  8. I love Twilight as much or more than the next person, but at the same time, I’m ready to move on. I think it’s time for Twilight and I to spend some time apart and give each other some space.

So, I probably won’t be checking this out, though it will undoubtably be pretty.

  10. Good morning Natasha!

I think this sounds interesting. Worth checking into I would think. I loved the Twilight series and have to say I never imagined that I would enjoy reading about vampires ans werewolves. :)

  11. I’m not even going to pretend like I’m not ridiculously excited about this! EW seems to have a pretty serious “in” with the folks responsible for the “Twilight” franchise — the issue they put out last summer with the first photos of Pattinson and Stewart in character sold like hotcakes. We only got eight copies at the bookstore where I worked, and we sold through them within minutes of the doors opening!

  12. I’m only surprised this didn’t happen sooner. It seems like graphic novel adaptations are the thing now, at least where fantasy and science fiction novels are concerned. I’ll look for it at my library when it’s available, but I don’t think I’d buy it.

  13. As much as I love Twilight, I’m slightly moving on. What with the sixth Harry Potter movie coming out (I loved it) its become a topic of discussion again.

I’ll probably still read this. I go to the bookstore and read books there. :) Thats probably what I’ll do with this.
