The 48 Hour Book Challenge – And It Begins

48hourbcFor the next 48 hours, I’ll be participating in the 48 Hour Book Challenge hosted by Pam at MotherReader.  So when I really should be writing posts about BookExpo America (because really I’m going to be the last one to write about it), I’m going to be reading instead.  I feel like the books have stacked up so much that I really just want to read and check out the other participants.

I’ll update here on the blog probably at least 2-3 times during the 48 hours but I’ll be updating in real time on my Twitter timeline using the #48hbc hashtag.  My official start time is 7:30 pm MDT on Friday and ending time is 7:30 pm on Sunday.

All the details for the challenge can be found on the 48 Hour Book Challenge rules post and see who’s underway with the challenge at the starting line.  I’d love a little cheerleading love and I’m sure the other participants would love a visit as well.

I’ve got a huge stack of books to choose from.  I think I’ll be starting with The Blue Notebook by James Levine and go from there.  Wish me luck!

Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

  2. Oh yeah and I’ll be interested to see what you think of The Blue Notebook. It’s good but a hard read emotionally.

  3. I wish I could read for 48 hours straight! Well, besides the sleep I would need, it would be awesome. I need to catch up as well. Good luck!

  5. I thought the 24 hour one would be intimidating! Well, I really wish I could join you, really! I have a number of “hard” books I need to read before my three week trip to Poland (where my Kindle will come very much in good use) and with the kids out of school, I’m not getting ANYTHING done. Argh!

  6. Have a great time!! I’ve got plans this weekend so I couldn’t participate. However – later this month The Hubster will be out of town and I’m taking a Friday off so I have a 3 day weekend all to myself . . . I’m planning “SuziQ’s reading fest”

  12. So I guess your husband took it okay when you told him about this? I wonder how mine will react this October for the 24 hour read-athon when he gets to take care of the baby all day for the first time.

  15. Hope you movin’ along and having fun….the Challenge is a great experience for me. I can’t believe I had missed to date some of the books I put in my stack for this Challenge. I guess I just needed a strong excuse to say “I MUST read now.”
