While I read this n some other reviews about the book, i agree tht there s some truth regarding the cutting issue but in the context of the book and from a background knowledge, it's really been exaggerated probably to boost sales of the book.

Mee - I'm looking forward to reading Desert Dawn. I'm glad you liked them both!

Meghan - "Horrific but engrossing." Perfect words.

Susan - Thanks for those recommendations. I'm going to look into them for sure. And thanks for the Weekly Geeks post!

Sarah - I think this is a book that you would like based on your reading interests. I look forward to hearing what you think.

Tara - Just thinking about it makes me shudder. It's awful.

Jen - Tell me if you do get it. I'd love to know what you think.

Kathy - I'm totally clueless when it comes to supermodels. Even now. I couldn't tell you who was popular at all.

Melissa - I agree. I like memoirs better than biographies, although I've read very few biographies. They are terrible fascinating.

Michelle - Somebody else who read the book! Have you read any of the others?

Samantha - I hope you do read it!

I agree about memoirs: they are a wonderful way to visit new places. I enjoy the form; for some reason, I find them more accessible than biographies (or even autobiographies). And this one sounds like fascinating (if a bit difficult to handle at times).

I love memoirs like this too. I was old enough in the late 80's to know who supermodels were, but I don't remember her. Her story does sound fascinating though.

I haven't heard of this book; it sounds terribly moving. Female circumcision is just one of worst things I can imagine doing to a young girl. It's unbelieveable that it still goes on.
