The LA Times Festival of Books, Part 1: In Which We Vlog

latimesfob09

As many of you know, I flew down to Los Angeles over the weekend to not only attend the LA Times Festival of Books but to also meet some amazing bloggers!  I had a BLAST and hope to share my experience with you in a series of blog posts and at least one video.  Tons of great books, great authors, great signings, and panels!  But to whet your appetite, Trish from Hey Lady! Whatcha Readin’?, Amy from My Friend Amy and I made a short vlog to give you a sneak peak into the experience that we all had.

In addition to Trish and Amy, I also met up with Jill from Fizzy Thoughts, Lisa from Books on the Brain,  Ti from Book Chatter and other stuff, Wendy from Musings of a Bookish Kitty, Tracy from Shelf Life, and Florinda from  The 3 R’s: Reading, ‘Riting and Randomness.  It was a great group!  You can read Lisa’s, Ti’s and Tracy’s recap of the events for more bookish goodness to tide you over until I post more.  I’m in awe that they can blog about it so quickly!  I’m still recovering!

Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

  1. It sounds like you ladies had a fantastic time in LA. I wish I could have gone. I was only a few hours away at a friend’s wedding South of Fresno. Hopefully I’ll see some of you up in the Bay Area for the October Book Group Expo.

  3. That was a lot of fun to watch! I’ve only met 2 other book bloggers, but it was exactly the same way – not an awkward moment.

  5. Great job with the vlog! LOL. I posted my post quickly but only because I didn’t attend the 2nd day.

I expected the meeting to go well but it’s always nice when your expectations match reality :) It was super fun.

I have met up with 3 bloggers from the area and I agree there was never an ackward moment. Book bloggers are the best.

  10. You guys are so cute. Someday I would love to do something like this. I feel like I need to be more of a veteran first, but I’m going to get there!

  11. Nice work, ladies! It was so great meeting all of you, and I’m looking forward to viewing and reading more of your thoughts about the Festival! Natasha, it was terrific that you were able to make the trip out :-) . I’m sorry I didn’t make it back for the second day, but I’m older than y’all and I’m still tired from just ONE day!

Trish’s comment about me looking just like my avatar made me laugh. My avatar is cropped from a photo, so I would hope so :-) .

I loved meeting you and am so happy you were able to get on a jet plane and make the trip.

    Hugs.

  13. I really, really wish that I could have been there! I’m glad to read everyone’s posts about it, though. Without you all, I wouldn’t have known a thing about it.

  22. My favorite thing about this video is how natural it is–I have to be honest that when I see a vlog for 7 minutes (even 4 minutes is sometiemes long!) I kind of scan through it but I enjoyed the back and forth between you gals. Must have been such a great weekend. I don’t think I could keep from hyperventilating if I actually met another blogger…!

  23. You three did a great job on the video, Natasha! I can’t wait to read the rest of your thoughts on the festival. I am so glad you were able to come and that we got to meet. You are just as smart and friendly as you come across on your blog.
