Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-thon: Update #2

readathoon

Events of Note

I feel asleep already!  Despite the fact that I went to bed early, laying in my warm bed lulled me back to sleep!  I’m now dressed and both kids are in the room with me despite the fact that their dad is supposed to be playing with them.

I have to go to a baby shower in a couple of hours just two doors down.  I probably won’t update until after then.  Or before.  Who knows.

Challenges

The Introductory Meme:

  • Where are you reading from today? As in a city?  I’m in Salt Lake City.  I’m still in bed.  Will be getting up to get dressed shortly.
  • 3 facts about me … I like to read, I’m crazy, and this is my first time doing the read-a-thon!
  • How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours? Dozens.  Everything is coming off of my shelf.  You can see the vlog I did earlier about this!
  • Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)? I’d like to read a lot of my review copies and try to leave as many comments and twittering as I can in just a set time of one hour after three hours reading.

  2. Keep going! You can do it. I too am feeling the lull of sleep. I’m trying to keep myself awake, hoping to not fall asleep anytime soon.

  7. If I would’ve signed up for this, I would be in big trouble. One kid being dropped off from a sleepover (which includes talking with parents), one kid being dropped off at my house for a sleepover (more talking), shuttling my daughter off to dance practice, and getting ready for a dinner party. I think I’ve listened to about 10 minutes of my audio all day!

  8. I still think you’re doing really well! I always find it hard not to fall asleep while reading when I’ve just woken up. I don’t do it too often. I saw your smoothie post and don’t have the ingredients, but it looks delicious!

  9. Why is it that our kids always come for us even when dad is supposed to be watching them. I can be upstairs in the bathtub with the door locked and my kids will come try and stick their faces under the door to ask me for a glass of milk even though their father is sitting downstairs less than 15 feet from the refridgerator…

  10. Just wanted to stop by and say you are doing GREAT!! You have such young children and yet you still find time for you; I didn’t learn that secret until my 3rd was almost out of elementary school.

    You are quite an inspiration!

  11. If I was doing the read-a-thon, I’d have to avoid my bed or make it super hot so I wouldn’t fall asleep. As it is, I’m just a cheerleader and I’ve already taken a cat nap. (Pin curls for prom make it impossible to sleep, really.)

Great job, though, Natasha. I watched the vlog and I have no doubt that you’ll read quite a few of those books on your bookshelves.
