February Search Terms – The Crazy Stuff That Brought People to My Blog
Each month, I highlight my favorite search terms and keywords that brought people via search engines to the Maw Books Blog. After a brief hiatus, I brought back this feature last month and I was really excited! It was previously one of my most commented features, so I was disappointed when my last search term post didn’t seem as popular as compared to when I first began doing them. So, it is without much enthusiasm I put this list together. And therefore, I ask if you’re reading this post and find it the tiniest bit amusing, leave me a comment to boost my spirits back up. I shamelessly admit that I could do with the pick-me-up. And I’ll be happier when I do my post next month. I’ve selected a few of my favorite search terms and left them exactly as they were typed in. I hope you enjoy!

If you have a blog, what’s your favorite search term that brought somebody there this past month?

The random searches are SO. FUNNY. I love the one about the movies ruining the books except not really.

on March 7th, 2009 at 9:46 amThese are just so funny!! The scary ones are, well, scary!!
on March 7th, 2009 at 10:24 amNo offense to your other wonderful posts, but these are my favorite posts that you do! I’m always excited when I see one show up.
on March 7th, 2009 at 10:39 amThis is hysterical! I should include this link in our next newsletter since I like to have some lighter material that offers a good laugh for my Book Bits and Bites column. I look forward to the next installment!
on March 7th, 2009 at 10:44 amDon’t dispair Natasha! I think these posts are my favorites. Where do these people come from?! I have no idea even how to find out what people are typing in that leads them to me!
on March 7th, 2009 at 11:13 amI am always amazed at the things people type into google!!!!
on March 7th, 2009 at 12:17 pmI have to say, you writing about the crazy search terms probably doesn’t help why people find you in Google…. not that I’m complaining, this is HILARIOUS!
on March 7th, 2009 at 12:59 pmYou get so much better search terms than I do!
on March 7th, 2009 at 1:23 pmI love these posts. I don’t get crazy search terms, though.
on March 7th, 2009 at 1:48 pmDon’t be discouraged! I LOOOVE your search term posts, you get much better search terms than I do.
on March 7th, 2009 at 2:32 pmYeah, I think you get all the good ones. I had a couple that were funny, but not nearly as many as you!
on March 7th, 2009 at 4:51 pmmy website dosen’t have a bra size.
viz the shelves in boxes–maybe the person just dosen’t have quite enough wood for the side parts of a book case. A fridge box, for instance, would make quite a nice book case, if only it had shelves…
My all time favorite search that lead to my blog was “The Hobbit, by Enid Blyton.”
on March 7th, 2009 at 5:49 pmHi! I know you don’t know me, but I’m a random lurker on your blog, and I just wanted to stay don’t stop doing these!! I love reading your blog, and I love these random search term things too!!
Keep doing what you do!!
on March 7th, 2009 at 5:55 pmThanks for participating! A lot of people won’t participate because they don’t have as many funny search terms but that’s okay! Just share what you have. My list is very small this week and not really funny.
You always have hilarious search terms, I love it!
on March 7th, 2009 at 6:09 pmWhen I look at my terms I have a multitude of “words” in italics, no funny ones for me yet… that I have seen, anyways.
Those are quite funny!
on March 7th, 2009 at 8:14 pmAnastasia – You should totally do it. I’d love to see the ones you get.
Beth – I know!
Lynn – Oh good! I’m so glad you said so. That does lift my spirits. It takes me some time to go through them and pick them out so I’m glad you find it worth it.
Paula – Oh yay! AND I’ve purposely left out all Stephenie Meyer/Twilight search terms for the past two months because I’ve got a great post in the works for that one. Just wait – you’ll want to pee your pants!
Sandy – Since you are on Blogger, you can use Google Analytics, which is fabulous! Just Google “adding Google Anayltics to Blogger blog” and you’ll be all set!
Amy – Makes me wonder if somebody else is laughing at me about the things that bring me to their site!
Monica – I’m sure there are some who type in something similiar and it brings them to these posts. They’ll be disappointed that they aren’t finding what they are looking for.
Bart – Crazy stuff! And I don’t think I blog about crazy stuff.
Kathy – I’m sure you have to get one every once in a while that makes you chuckle.
Jen – Okay, good! I’ll go into it next month with a much better attitude. I just needed that reassurance that it was worth the time and effort. But some of these are just to good not to share!
Lenore – 80% of my traffic comes from search engines, so it certainly gives me a lot to go off of.
Charlotte – I didn’t think about putting shelves inside a box to actually be used as a bookshelf. That could be what they meant! And this website, does have a bra size! I divulged my own bra size on one of my posts!
RandomPerson – Yay!! I love it when lurkers finally leave me a comment! Well, welcome and I’m glad you are enjoying. Stick around and don’t hesitate to leave a comment again.
Callista – You’re welcome! I was doing it anyways! And 1st Saturdays of the month won’t stress me out while I’m doing my end of the month wrap-up post and blog spotlights.
Marci – I’ve got a ton of those ones too. But to boring to share.
on March 7th, 2009 at 9:02 pmHave to tell you, honestly: I’ve been waiting for this post! I knew when I read the Feb. wrap-up post, it was coming up soon. Love them!
And now I’m waiting for your next video blog.
on March 7th, 2009 at 9:35 pmI think that everyone has a bit of spring fever and that is why they aren’t commenting. You aren’t the first to feel that way and I didn’t feel ya! I do enjoy these posts though. I’m currently reading America and the Age of Genocide and it really makes my feelings about Darfur all the stronger.
on March 8th, 2009 at 2:31 pmAack! That didn’t make any sense. I meant that I understand about people not commenting and stuff. Long day I guess
on March 8th, 2009 at 2:32 pmThat last one about forwarding it cracked me up. How funny is Google?
on March 8th, 2009 at 3:02 pmHaha, hilarious. What random things bring people to a blog!! It always makes me laugh.

This is so funny! Loved it and I so needed a good laugh. Thanks!
on March 8th, 2009 at 8:31 pmMy search terms have been really boring lately- book titles, and authors sometimes (hey, that’s what my blog is all about). Yours sure are interesting- and funny! The shelves in a box one made me laugh.

on March 9th, 2009 at 7:45 pmMy favorites to my site so far have been “wife tied up” and “number of pages 1948- pancakes, Paris” and “audrey stone diamond old husband”
None as funny as yours. But like you, I wonder, How in the world did this get someone to my blog?!?!
Some things are just so random. I’m still trying to figure out what number of pages, 1948, pancakes, and paris have to do with each other. I don’t think I’ve written anywhere about wives being tied up…
on March 9th, 2009 at 9:06 pmBy the way…I’m looking forward to the Stephenie Meyers/Twilight search terms. I haven’t posted my reviews to from my other site to my blog on purpose. I admit, I enjoyed the books as a escapism literature. Heck…I was estatic when I won the books! Fluffy reading I don’t have to think about…but when I look at some of the posts you get from your posts on Stephenie Meyers…sheesh.
Evil little teenage posters! (Not all of you are evil!!!
Just a few crazy ones!!!)
on March 9th, 2009 at 9:12 pmThose are definitely wacky!
