We were that lived in the Florida Housing Project. My mother pulled me out of Frantz during this period and I transferred to Andrew Jackson elementary. My parents weren't racist - we knew we were just as poor as the blacks who lived in the nearby Desire Housing Project - but, as noted above, there was a lot of anger, hostility and threat directed toward white parents that attempted to keep their kids in school. There were only 4 white kids that attended Frantz that year. I remember this event - I was there.
