Me! On Video! A New Bi-Monthly Maw Books Feature
Introducing a new feature here on the Maw Books Blog! I’ve been wanting to do this for ages, and now the new year has gotten my butt in gear! I’ll be doing a couple videos a month where I can express myself through video instead of this keyboard. Who knows what may happen in each video!
This first video is about six minutes long (because it’s the first) but I hope to have them no longer than about three minutes. So if you’d like to know what I’ve been up to the last couple of weeks, then take a look. . .
By the way, if anybody has a clever title for these new video chats, then please share!
Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

I love those shelves! Nice video. Great job! Can’t wait to see you every week.
on January 11th, 2009 at 8:43 pmI loved your video! Happy birthday – those shelves looked fantastic. Your get-together sounded wonderful – it must be so nice to meet other book bloggers in person!
I’m looking forward to Skeleton Creek, too, and I enjoyed Savvy very much.
I’m definitely looking forward to this new video feature of yours.
on January 11th, 2009 at 9:04 pmOmg! OMGOMGOMG! Your new shelves! Your husband’s a keeper.
Also: I loved seeing you chat! You’re such a smiley person, so upbeat. It’s fun to watch
Steph
on January 11th, 2009 at 9:26 pmThat was so much fun Natasha!! I loved it. It’s so great to see your wonderful personality shine through. And I’m in love with your bookshelves! What a great bday gift. Can’t wait to hear more about the blogger meet up…happy belated birthday!!
on January 11th, 2009 at 9:43 pmBah…I’m doing what we talked about…commenting and blogging while my husband watches movies I could care less about. Unfortunately, that means I would never be able to hear your video over…what is this…oh yeah, Hellboy II.
I’ll have to come back tomorrow during the day
on January 11th, 2009 at 9:58 pmWhat a great idea to do a video post. And how fun to get together with fellow book bloggers! I look forward to watching more of your videos.
on January 11th, 2009 at 10:09 pmThanks Chris!
Belle – I’m curious to know what other people think of Skeleton Creek. I need to hurry and get my review written!
Steph – I’m probably all smiley because I was nervous. I settled down more at the end of the video. And I can’t wait to actually finish the bookshelves. Ikea is out of stock of the books we need. I really want to fill them up!
Chris – I’ve been wanting those bookshelves ever since we moved in three years ago. I finally forced my hand!
Jenn M. – Ugh. I HATED Hellboy II. I think I fell asleep. Right now we are watching The Other Boleyn Girl. I am half focused on both the computer and the movie, because this one I actually want to watch.
Charley – Our get together was a lot of fun! And I can’t wait to do more of these videos. Approximately, twice a month should do.
on January 11th, 2009 at 10:17 pmWow, what an awesome vlog! I’m looking forward to more of these. It was really cool how you did a show and tell of the books you’re reading/have read. And those bookshelves are absolutely drool-worthy!
on January 11th, 2009 at 11:00 pmYou are definitely someone with a marketing mind! You are always doing something new and different – I like that. Way to go!
on January 12th, 2009 at 6:48 amYour new bookshelves look fantastic!
on January 12th, 2009 at 6:50 amWhat fun! I enjoyed your video. Ikea is quite a place, isn’t it? Your shelves look fantastic. You’ll have to show us what they looked like filled up – I’m sure that won’t take long. *grin*
on January 12th, 2009 at 8:20 amHow fun! I loved watching it. And if you ever get Sara Zarr to your house, I’ll be SO jealous
on January 12th, 2009 at 10:42 amI am so jealous of your bookshelves. They look great. I am just behind you on the turning 30 thing. Fortunately I have most of the year before that happens. I liked your video post. Very cool. You should name it “Book Blab”. Ha ha. That is really cheesy isn’t it? I couldn’t think of anything else.
on January 12th, 2009 at 11:25 amI am so envious of your bookshelves!! Happy Birthday! What a great husband you must have =) I love how you are going to start doing this, it’s another great way to connect. I also wanted to say, I read Plain Truth and it was one of my favorites by Jodi Picoult. I agree it can be hit and miss with her, but this one in my opinion was good. I also read and reviewed Skeleton Creek and I can’t wait to hear what you thought about it!
on January 12th, 2009 at 12:53 pmYou are way cute. I look forward to more videos. Happy Birthday (way late), and enjoy those beautiful bookshelves! You’ll have to post a picture when they are filled up.
on January 12th, 2009 at 3:16 pmJoanne – Now only if I can get books into them, then we can drool some more.
Sandy – Thanks! I’m trying to stand out somehow.
Kathy – Thank you.
Joy – I must admit I was more than a little excited when Ikea was built in our city. Love their bookshelf systems. So customizable. Now if only they’ll get those doors in stock, I can move on with my life!
Janssen – She probably thinks I’m stocking her!
Amy BTW M – So far you are the only one who has come up with a name. I want to make a button and everything, so I need to start being creative here.
Kristina – I’m glad you liked Plain Truth. That makes me feel better. I hope to have Skeleton Creek review up this week.
KT – Thanks! I’m sure I will post a photo, I took photos of my husband and father in law putting them up.
on January 12th, 2009 at 5:54 pmI’ve been waiting all afternoon and evening to get a chance to watch your video and I finally made it back to the computer. Love it, love it, love it. Can’t wait for the next one! (How come you didn’t show us the books under your bed? j/k)
on January 13th, 2009 at 12:23 amVlogging with Maw Books! Neat!
on January 13th, 2009 at 2:19 pmGreat video, Natasha. Love your shelves! Thanks for your inspiration – always.
Monica
on January 13th, 2009 at 5:16 pmNatasha, your new bookshelves are beautiful! And I loved your video. I’m looking forward to seeing more of them in the future. I have no name suggestions for your video series, though… I’m sure you’ll come up with something fantastic.
on January 14th, 2009 at 11:03 amI was just at IKEA drooling over bookshelves this weekend. I spend way too much time and money at that place! I want to see what they look like when you get the books out from under you bed and on the shelves.
on January 14th, 2009 at 7:56 pmHow fun (and brave) to do the videos.
Ali – I’ll take a photo of the boxes before I put them in the shelves!
Ladytink_534 – Yay!
Monica – I wouldn’t say inspiration. But I do love reading!
Shauna – So far I haven’t come up with anything. I’m glad you liked the video. I already want to make one again. I can’t wait.
Jeanette – I was just at Ikea today hoping to pick up glass doors for the top. Originally, we bought the extensions for on top but it took it to close to our ceiling and made it look crowded. So we took them back. We had already put the doors on the bottom. Now that we aren’t doing the extensions, the glass doors we wanted on top don’t fit. Sigh . . . oh well. I still love them!
on January 14th, 2009 at 8:56 pmNatasha, you are so cute!!! What a great job, I feel like we’d be fast friends.
Will you ever have a video chat with authors and other bloggers?

on January 19th, 2009 at 1:02 amI love the bookshelves and I’m so jealous of all your books! I love to own books. One day I will have a house with a library that is dedicated just to books. Your video is really cool too. I might try to do something like that someday myself.
