A Giveaway Winner and a Book Review Carnival You Don’t Want to Miss

Thank you everybody for your great ideas on literary Christmas traditions in your own home and for your kind comments on our cute little Christmas Mouse.  You have given me some fantastic ideas on some new traditions.  I, for one, am going out to buy a cute Christmas basket to put Christmas themed books under the tree.  I love the idea of pairing a book with a themed pajama, as well as unwrapping a book (can be books you already own) and reading a book for the 12 days of Christmas.  Seriously, if you didn’t read all the ideas I highly suggest you browse through the comments on the Christmas Mouse post.

So how about a little Christmas cheer?!  I promised a $10 Amazon gift certificate to one lucky winner:

Sandy at You’ve GOTTA Read This!

Congrats Sandy! I’m sure you can find yourself a little something for your stocking this year.  Merry Christmas!

I’m hosting my very first carnival!  The Book Review Blog Carnival will be hosted HERE this coming Sunday!  Have a favorite post from 2008?  A favorite Christmas book perhaps?  Fiction, non-fiction, how-to, memoirs, young adult, middle readers, picture books.  Anything!  This is the time to strut your stuff!  So decide on a post and take a second to send it off to me.

It’s going to be worth your time!  I haven’t decided on the details but there will be some type of random giveaway for both those who submit a book review as well as those who visit the carnival participants.  I want it to be fun and merry just in time for Christmas!  But if I don’t get your reviews I’ll be in a bah humbug mood for the holidays.  And that wouldn’t be very fun would it, especially since it’s my first carnival.   By submitting your post through the Book Review Blog Carnival site, it makes some nice little code for me.  Click on the little orange box in the upper right hand corner at this link to submit your post. So what are you waiting for?  I’d love for those reviews to come pouring in!

I’m waiting . . .

Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

  1. Der…I totally missed the official form to fill out for submissions. Sorry I took up your time and sent you the link directly! It’s my first time around – I’ll probably get it right next time. :) (and just so I’m clear, do you need me to go back and do that form, or am I good?)

  4. Just sent you a review via the carnival form. I’ve never done this before, so hopefully it worked … if you can use the review, great! If not, no big deal. Looking forward to seeing the other submissions.

  5. Hey Natasha, I just submitted a review of one of my favorite memoirs of the year, Dream Homes by Joyce Zonana…I don’t read non-fic often, but this one was fantastic! Yippee! This is only my second carnival that I’ve participated in!

  6. I sure hope one from 2007 will be okay. I won’t get around to reviewing the Christmas books I read this year until next June probably.

  11. Stacy – You’re fine. Don’t worry about it.

    Word Lily – You’re welcome! I’m sure it’s intimidating.

    Samantha – Ah, thanks!

Betty & Boo’s Mommy – Of course it will work!

Chris – Well, this is only my first carnival to host, so I hope it goes well.

    Ladytink_534 – Time doesn’t matter. It’s fine!

    S. Krishna – Got it!
