Congratulations to all the winners and finalists! You may see all the details at the National Book Awards website. Have you read any of these books? I have The Disreputable History of Frankie Launda-Banks in my review pile. I enjoyed it. I have Chains ready to be picked up from the library and I’m really excited for that one, as well as The Underneath in the house, ready to read.

I don’t think I’ve even heard of any of these!
on November 20th, 2008 at 3:50 amI read What I Saw earlier this month and didn’t particularly love it. I LOVED Disreputable History though. I’m reading Chains right now and enjoying it.
on November 20th, 2008 at 8:46 amI’ve been trying to track down What I Saw and How I Lied but none of the libraries around here have it. Maybe now that it has won this award they will order some copies.
on November 20th, 2008 at 9:02 amI’ve read The Underneath and have Chains and Frankie Landau Banks checked out from the library right now.
I’d also like to look into the Non-Fiction winner.
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks is definitely one of the best YA books I read this year, but I haven’t read the others to compare.
on November 20th, 2008 at 7:19 pmJust wanted to stop in and say that I’m so glad I found your blog today. I think it’s great that you post recipes with your reviews…that is so outside the box.
I LOVE IT!! I will even be using some of them. I will certainly add you to my feeds.
on November 20th, 2008 at 7:46 pmJen - The only ones I’m familiar with are the Young Adult ones.
Janssen - I have What I Saw on hold at the library, have Disreputable in the review pile and am very excited to pick up chains. I’ve had it on hold for two months.
Jeanette - What I Saw has been on order from our library for about three months. I’m thinking now I’ll actually get it now.
Ali - We just talked about Disreputable at a book club that I went to last night. Everybody liked it.
Shelly - Welcome!! I’m so glad you’ve left a comment. I’m also glad you like the recipes. I have enjoyed making them as well.
on November 20th, 2008 at 10:27 pmYikes! I haven’t heard of any of these except for Home, which I probably won’t read because I didn’t like Gilead. Thanks for sharing, Natasha!
on November 21st, 2008 at 6:29 amI haven’t heard of any of these but I’ll be on the lookout for them now to see what kind of reviews book bloggers give them. Then maybe I’ll add them to my TBR list.
on November 23rd, 2008 at 9:33 amI’ve read all the finalists for the Young People’s Lit category. What I Saw and How I Lied wasn’t my *favorite* of the bunch. But it was an enjoyable enough read. Have you read The Underneath or Chains yet?
