Ray Bradbury is an awesome writer and a master of words. I continually bow to his superior word use, and if you call THAT extraneous... well... you obviously don't see the creative genius behind it. It is a must read! I like the cartoon version as well, but honestly, it cut his descriptions in half, and I prefer the full wordage that he uses. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I first learned of the book through the TV special. All these years later it remains one of my all time favorite books and certainly my favorite Bradbury novel.
