The Book Of Muasape Onthaw is a GREAT book. I read it in a couple hours. I didn’t want to put it down. A little swearing didn’t stop me from reading.

Well, I'd never give up on a book because of swearing, but I have wanted to give up on a few Palahniuk books because of the sheer gross disgustingness. Mostly what makes me give up on books is bad writing or just not being able to care about the characters or what's happening to them.

Hm. Lots of things can make me stop reading a book. Bad writing. Boring story. Characters I just don't care about. Incessant swearing or gratuitous s-x scenes will do it too.

A lot of cussing doesn’t bother me but there are a few that I REALLY don’t like. It’s hard to say what makes me give up on a book but I do know I don’t enjoy being lectured or preached at when I read!

Language doesn't make me stop reading, or even sex. I stop when I notice the writing, in a bad way. If the author is trying to hard to have beautiful writing, and it just clunks.

You might try The X in Sex: How the X Chromosome Controls Our Lives for your X book. I know you don't like books with sex in them, but I think this one is more about how our bodies are different from men, in a scientific way. I haven't read it, but someone else did. Trish, maybe, and I'm not sure which Trish at that!

I don't mind some foul language if it fits the story and the characters but I've read some books where it just seems to be thrown in there for no reason. I haven't stopped reading a book in a while, but when I do, it's usually because I just can't get into it and find my mind wandering while I'm reading it.

I don't like a lot of potty mouth language either; however, I can read it more than I can listen to it because I can skim the words and not take them in when reading. Taking a glance and seeing 6 – 7 words – I think I may have dumped it, too! Hope the next one is better.
