Can We Pretend the Month Doesn’t End Tomorrow?
No! The month ends tomorrow and I need another week in September! Can we pretend that the month really isn’t over?
I missed my Reading & Blogging for Darfur update last week. I wanted to neatly get all of the book reviews from my September reads dated into September but I’ve conceded defeat. I have a Shannon Hale book review and an interview, a James Dashner book review and an interview, and one last book review along with a spotlight on a new online social network and book club that I’ve been asked to moderate. All three have giveaways associated with the Darfur awareness campaign therefore I was trying to get all put up before the end of September. But seriously, that’s too much for me to try to put up in the next two days.
I’ve found that I just can’t do it. Not enough days in the month. So as soon as I get these posts put up then I’ll do a Darfur wrap up post hopefully by the end of this weekend. Just wanted to give you an update in case your wondering about what is going on since I missed my last update. Plus that will give you a couple of more days to wrap up any reviews of books and videos that you have in the works.
I know I’ve been overwhelming your inboxes or feed readers, but at least you have plenty to comment on. Remember every comment left on my blog will raise money for Darfur, so feel free to do some browsing!
Thanks everybody! And now I don’t feel so stressed . . .
Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

I am kinda wishing the same thing as well. I just finished reviewing The Devil Came on Horseback in my blog and I just got another book on Darfur to read!Guess I would have to do it after your Darfur Awareness month ends.
on September 29th, 2008 at 10:09 amWhat you are doing is blowing me away!!!
you are such a trooper. I am in awe. I just gave you an award, no worries about doing anything with it…I just really am blessed by your blogging to change the world! keep it up
oh, and I would love to help with anything I can. I was totally caught off guard as far as finding book on Darfur…but if you need any help, hand something over.
on September 29th, 2008 at 10:30 amAnd yet look at all you HAVE posted! It’s not like you’re me and haven’t been posting much of anything with content this month!
on September 29th, 2008 at 10:49 amYou’ve done a great job this month (like always). You’ve really put a lot of your heart, soul, and mind into the Darfur blogging project. And it’s incredible what you’ve done! You have so much to be proud of! I’m super impressed by you
on September 29th, 2008 at 10:56 amSeptember really has gone by quickly! You’ve done a fabulous job though. Definitely something to be proud of.
BTW, I finished reading The Translator this weekend and just posted the review on my blog.
on September 29th, 2008 at 1:09 pmCan we petition the government to add a week to the end of each month?? lol maybe then we can get stuff done lol. Then maybe we can see about adding hours to the day!
on September 29th, 2008 at 1:31 pmYou have done a fabulous job with the Darfur campaign! And, yes – that’s definitely way too much to do in 2 days. Give yourself all the time you need to not be stressed.
As for my part, I will be finishing up The Translator tomorrow.
on September 29th, 2008 at 3:21 pmI know exactly what you mean, Natasha–there just doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day/week/month to get everything done. You’ve been doing a great job, though, and I can’t wait to hear how everything turned out.
on September 29th, 2008 at 4:00 pmDon’t stress out, Natasha! You have done an absolutely amazing thing with the Darfur campaign, regardless of the last two days of the month. I really hope you raised a lot of money and I’m looking forward to finding out how much I get to send you for my donation!
on September 29th, 2008 at 4:14 pmYou and I can pretend together that there’s another week left to the month.
on September 29th, 2008 at 7:37 pmI agree September has been flying by. It’s been a pleasure commenting for Darfur, though. You’ve done something really special by giving your readers an opportunity to help others.
on September 29th, 2008 at 8:23 pmWorks for me!
Ugh, I have The Devil Came on Horseback, and I’ve had it since August. We haven’t watched a single movie since the Olympics.
on September 29th, 2008 at 8:24 pmOn one hand I hate for September to be over with but on the other, I can’t wait for October!
on September 30th, 2008 at 2:49 amI’m all for extending September since it would give me extra time to revise for an exam that is looming on October 10 *eek*
I need to get Great Expectations reviewed before September ends – but then that got me thinking – in blogging world September can continue for as long as you like – just change the publishing dates on your posts
on September 30th, 2008 at 6:02 amSeptember has gone by super fast this year. You have done so much and been so busy this month. It is amazing! I’ve tried commenting on all your posts. I know I missed some though. Sorry for commenting on several at the same time.
on September 30th, 2008 at 11:09 amof course we can pretend the month doesn’t end! i wouldn’t mind what so ever! and i comment a lot so it’s all good. lol. take your time. i totally know what it feels like to be pressured. =]
on September 30th, 2008 at 2:06 pmSigh. I think this was the worst possible month for me to try and do a theme read. I couldn’t even get through the first book I picked: Darfur: The Ambiguous Genocide which probably is more a result of my failings than the failing of the book. But I will uphold my pledge to sponsor your posts. Will you be tallying them? I think I said I’d do up to $30.
on September 30th, 2008 at 6:49 pmI appreciate all of your comments!
Rebecca – To tell you the truth I have Darfur: The Ambiguous Genocide checked out from the library but it looked like a very technical read. I think a memoir may be better suited for you. Something like Tears of the Desert of The Translator. I will be putting up a tally post.
