Giveaways for Reading & Blogging for Darfur
The list! The list! I have never done a giveaway this big! Time to live up to my new reputation. I’m so excited!!
Following is the list of books that will be given away in conjunction with the Reading & Blogging for Darfur campaign. This is the list as it stands as of today. I still have some other finalizations to make. So there’s a good chance that this list could get even bigger. I just wanted to get you really excited with a preview.
I’m still figuring out the best way to have people sign up for the books they’d like, but I’m sure I’ll come up with something. To be eligible for any of these prizes you must participate in the Reading & Blogging for Darfur campaign. All of the details are here. Simply stated read a book about Darfur, watch a video about Darfur. If you have a blog review that book or video, post about the campaign, or put the button in your sidebar. Any of those things will make you eligible.
The Grand Prize: If you sponsor me at either a penny per page, 50 cents per post or both than you are also eligible for the BIGGEST giveaway ever! I have two copies of all of the following books. So not only will I be giving out one copy to everybody else, but one person is going to go home with them ALL! That’s around $700 worth of books!!
Thank you to the many wonderful authors and publishing companies who have generously donated their books including Susan McBride, Cynthia Lord, Christina Meldrum, Leslie Patricelli, James Dashner, J. Scott Savage, Hatchette Book Group, Literary Ventures Fund, Nation Books, and Random House.

on September 21st, 2008 at 10:33 amWow….what a list. Do you know what your tallies are yet? How many posts s far? How many pages?
By the way, have I mentioned how awesome you are for doing this?!

on September 21st, 2008 at 11:51 amWow – that’s an impressive lot of books! Glad I’m participating! But I’d be just as glad even without all the extra incentive. Hope the abundance of great prizes helps you get even more people involved! =)
on September 21st, 2008 at 12:00 pmWow, Natasha, what amazing giveaways! A bunch of these books are on my wish list so I’m thrilled to have a chance at them (and support such a good, under-recognized cause in the process)!

on September 21st, 2008 at 7:58 pmWow, look at that list. It looks like you’re purging yourself of your Oprah book club books
on September 22nd, 2008 at 12:22 amWow! Even I had to say it again. He, he.
Michelle – Well, I wouldn’t call it purging exactly as I still have a copy for myself of these books. I lovedA Lesson Before Dying, enjoyed Where the Heart Is, The Rapture of Canaan was weird in a creepy good way, and I’ve read Vinegar Hill but now have zero recollection of it. I don’t remember hating it.
on September 22nd, 2008 at 12:33 amForgot to mention the answer to Jen’s question. I’m up to $38 for a penny a page and $16 for 50 cents a post according to this last update:
http://blog.mawbooks.com/2008/09/18/day-18-reading-blogging-for-darfur/
The only book I’ve finished since then is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn which I think adds about $4 to the penny a page.
on September 22nd, 2008 at 12:52 amthat list is HUGE!!! i must say… every time i see a book by stephenie meyer i have to sigh deeply! =]
