Author Events This Week in Salt Lake City Area
In the Salt Lake City area? I know a lot of my readers are so I thought I’d give a heads up to two author events that I’ll be attending this week. Let me know if you’ll be there.
First up, David Ebershoff, author of The 19th Wife will be at the King’s English Bookshop this Friday, September 12th at 7pm. I’ll be hosting David Ebershoff on his virtual book tour on October 15th through TLC Book Tours. I won’t be able to get the book read before Friday but meeting him in person will be a nice touch for the tour. Click here for more details.
Second, J. Scott Savage is having a Far World, Water Keep kick off party this Saturday, September 13th from 12-3pm at the Spanish Fork Library. As Spanish Fork is a good 45 minute to an hour drive, we’ll have to think of some fun activity for the kids to make the trip worthwhile (I’m not saying J. Scott Savage isn’t worth it, but my toddlers will probably beg to differ). Click here for more details and read my book review and my interview with the author.
And it’s just dawned on me that I never picked a winner for my Far World giveaway (probably because I forgot to give a deadline). So, let’s do that now. The winner is Nicola from Back to Books! Congrats. Email me your address at natasha (at) mawbooks (dot) com and I’ll forward your information to J. Scott Savage. Watch for a guest post from J. Scott Savage this month and an opportunity to win again!
And mark you calenders for the Great Salt Lake Book Festival this October 22-25th, with most of the festivities on Saturday, the 25th at the SLC library. Click here for more details. Click here to find out about Book Festivals in your area.
A lot happening this week. Let me know if any of you are going.
Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

This makes me wish I lived in a bigger city. I would love to have him come to Roanoke. Enjoy and I can’t wait to hear how it goes, especially in Salt Lake City. I wonder how people there will react.
on September 7th, 2008 at 8:40 pmJennifer – That’s why I wish I could get it read before Friday. Being LDS myself, I’m curious as to what my reaction will be. I honestly haven’t heard anything around here about the book, so it will be an eye-opener.
on September 7th, 2008 at 10:51 pmah! i feel so far away in the tiny CT. =[ i would totally go to one of those events ... idk if my friends would go but i might be able to pull a few. if only. sigh. but it sounds like it's going to be great so have fun!!! =]
on September 8th, 2008 at 1:26 pmBoo! It seems like Salt Lake is the place to be!! I should look at see if there are any events going on in Dallas.
on September 8th, 2008 at 9:14 pmI wish I could go to both! I didn’t know David was going to be in SL… I’m a stop on his blog tour too. And yes, it will be interesting to see what my reaction will be to his book also!
But I’m not sure I can get up to King’s English on Friday. Hmmm….
As for Saturday and Mr. Savage… I’m going to try my best!
on September 10th, 2008 at 7:14 pmGinger – Hey, I always have fun!
Trish – Before blogging I never really looked to see what was going on but now I make a point to make sure I do.
Suey – I wish I could get the book read before Friday but no can do here. Hopefully, going to the signing won’t open me up to any spoilers. Hopefully, I’ll make it to Spanish Fork. It’s a way for me.
