Wow. This book is amazing. We read it in seventh grade when we were split up into boy-girl classes (the boys read Monster by Walter Dean Myers), and I thought I wouldn't like it. I'd tried reading it once before, and I didn't really like the style it was written in, so I only read about two pages. But then, once we got into it in class, I was hooked. I read two other Laurie Halse Anderson books from the school library and I'm hungry for more. Don't really know where I'm going with this... So take it from a chick who enjoyed it even as an extremely picky thirteen year old, you do not want to miss out on this book! :D

I am in high school, and I am dating a girl who got raped. For the most part this book is a complete understatement. My girlfriend was completely torn apart, she has been in therapy for 9 months, and has progressed a lot, but it still causes a huge problem. The guy goes to our school, and that causes even bigger problems because he sexually harassed her for a while. This book doesn't even begin to show the pain a girl who's been raped goes through, and it doesn't show how it affects everyone around her.

Wow, I didn't know there was a movie. It looks pretty good too. I noticed Kristen's boyfriend is in it. I wonder if that is where they met? It also has D.B. Sweeney (he's Doug Dorsey in The Cutting Edge). I love that movie so that's pretty awesome. Of course the book sounds good as well.

Valerie - High schoolers can be cruel. I'm glad that I made it through unscathed.

DJ Unknown - I liked the movie just fine. I thought it was a good adaptation of the book.

I admit, this book was good. I mostly enjoy war books and all that stuff but this isn't half bad. The movie sucked though, all fake and you could tell.
