Watch the First Completed Scene of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight (the movie)
Here’s another Twilight video for all of you Stephenie Meyer fans. They have completed a scene from the upcoming movie. This one is kinda fuzzy but you can watch a crystal clear one here and the Twilight trailer here.
Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

Ok, Ok, I’m now on the official Twilight bandwagon! I had never even heard of the books until I saw movie trailers popping up on everyone’s blogs. Now I’ve got a copy of Twilight on the way to me and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
on June 4th, 2008 at 6:22 amI’ve only watched this clip once and it was early in the morning but… isn’t it true that in the book Bella isn’t even conscious during this part? I guess they have to have some action in the movie. In the book I was expecting some more fighting, instead of just a recap of it! I guess we’ll get that from the movie!
on June 4th, 2008 at 7:00 amI think the movie is definitely going in the right direction. They’ve added some stuff that’s not in the book, but there’s a lot of thinking that goes on in the book that’s hard to portray on film.
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:18 amNatasha, I think your link for the contest to this post isn’t working right. Just to let you know!
Now to comment on the scene:
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:20 amWhat’s with the flying? Or is he just “jumping” vampire style? That was kind of weird. And isn’t James supposed to bite Bella? I don’t see him doing that. Hmmmmmm….not sure I like this scene yet.
I was a little disappointed at first. I thought the clip was not like the book at all. But we can’t fully know if the movie is going to be good until it comes out.
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:30 amI loved watching the clip. I just hope that this didn’t give away too much and just had only wet out appetites to see more. Then the only option would be to go out and see the movie on December 12!
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:42 amThis clip was so cool. I loved how Rob played Edward. Edward seems really sexy and was totally kicking butt in this scene. I can’t wait to watch the movie!
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:44 amum… first off, was that pepper spray or something she sprayed in james face? whats that gonna to?
but i love this scene. I kinda wish this wasnt the first one we saw. i was hoping for the meadow or biology scene.
I really dont know how i feel about this actually. Im a little disappointed. I wanted to see more edward! lol. but james is a good actor. Im glad he won for the best fight. it shows that he has awesome fighting skills.
but the look edward gave bella was mesmerizing. it was like speechless. man, hes good a dazzeling people. I just cant wait until the movie comes out. I totally gonna hypervenilate and sceam…
paperbags anyone?
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:48 amI have mixed emotions about this scene. (I wish I had a camera the first time I saw it, I was in tears)
I love it, its amazing & well done, but it doesnt follow the book, which irritates me.
I really like Cam in this scene, he’s an amazing actor.
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:49 amI LOVE the clip!! i Mean there are differences from the book, but come on i mean the clip looks AWEOSME and would definatelty draw audiences even more into it!!!! And Come on do you think audiences are going to like just a SMALL little action, (where Edward pulls James off of Bella) NO they want to see ACTION!!!! and even though it didn’t go woth the book i still think it will do an AWESOME JOB AT THE BOX OFFICE!!!!!!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:49 amSorry i left the comment of this scene in the teaser trailer post…
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:57 amHere is my comment for the teaser trailer…
i love it, i had my doubts about Robert Pattison but when i watch the teaser trailer i saw that he can pull out the crooked smile and if he can do that he can do Edward…
sorry about the misunderstanding…
Please enter me to win the contest!!!
I’m not sure how I like this scene…it didn’t have all the greatness that I pictured. I’ll have to wait until I see the entire movie before I pass judgement.
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:00 amit looks awesome! but in the sneak peek⦠bella wasnt unconsious, her leg wasnt broken, she wasnt suppose to see the fighting, i didnt see james bite her hand, james wasnt suppose to be holding the camera, and when she tried to run he was suppose to kick her not slide her! but i still think its gonna be sooo good (or atleast i hope it is) the other thing i didnt like was the slow motion things they did. but oh well! Its still gonna rock!
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:03 amI liked it. They didn’t do it exactly according to the book, but it’s only based on the book, not adapted from, so that’s okay.
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:04 amIt looks like this movie is going to have some pretty good special effects. The scene isn’t really like the book, but it works as an adaptation.
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:09 amIt definitely isn’t what I expected it to be like, but I thought that the special effects were good. I think they’ll do fine with the movie.
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:11 amIn all truth I don’t really like the graphics D:, Sorry- I can’t help it! But I am very excited for the movie and even with ‘intresting’ graphics I will still see it a bazillion times! (( But then again each movie has a differnent sort of style for the graphic- these graphics just happen to be “Twilight” style…xD))
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:11 amThis scene is so intense. The look that Edward gives Bella after he does that super-cook spider thing is priceless. Love it! But it’s not really the book to me….
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:20 amI am very excited for the movie and I know that they are probably going to change so many things around in the book and do other things and I understand that this happens. (It will still tick me off but as long as they don’t do anything to drastic I’ll support it) This scence shows that they do have to change many things from the original after all the book is in one person POV so when Bella blacks out the other things get blocked out. That doesn’t mean they didn’t happen. I am pretty excited for the baseball scene and hopefully the port angles scence if they still have it.
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:21 amI first watched the clip on the MTV Pre-show. It was dark and of course MTV had their logos up on the corners so it was hard to focus and watch. So after I kind of like “Meh…”
But then I went online and watched the clip in high definition and enjoyed it a lot more. I know the special effects are a little bit iffy at this point, but there are still months and months before the movie hits theatres, which means there is plenty of time for more editing. You could also tell there were parts cut out before, during, and after that scene; so it’s not technically a full clip.
As for Bella being unconscious during this part, I’m sure at one point she will be, but it’d detract from the action if as soon as the fight scene came up, the screen went black.
Anyways, I like it, is what I’m getting at, haha.
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:39 amI thought that it was pretty cool, but does Bella spray James with mace??! Or the camera? Anyway, the part where Edward came (00:34) I thought it was weird when he’s just staring at her. And did James fly or jump?? It’s interesting.
I would like to win
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:39 amWhen i was watching this during the mtv movie awards i was bouncing up and down and screaming. I know its not really what the book says cause bella sees edward kick butt, but come on its still really good anyone could say that. I absolutely love the part where edward looks at Bella. He looks so sad and then HE WAS ABOUT TO KILL HER!!! you could see it. He jumps at her but thank goodness james jumps on him. I love that scene. I was kinda suprised they picked that one cause its like the climax of action in the whole movie. I’m so glad they gave us a scene though!!!!Yay
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:42 amafter seeing the trailer i was like wow this is amazing after seeing this i am going to go see it and no one can stop me!!! no one!!! im going to be soo happy and edward cullen and bella r awesome i luv james vioce this is exactly the way i pictured this i pictured action and horror
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:57 amedward was looking so closely at bella as if he wanted to kill her u could see it in his face but then james attacked this scene waz amazing, aesome, great, cant live without it
Love it! When I first saw it I started to squeal and my mom just rolled her eyes and me and asked me if it was that vampire thing. Based just on this clip- I think the movie will be great and the fans will be happy.
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:01 amI wish this wasn’t the first scene! Its great and all, but it doesn’t really follow the book. Bella is already unconscious when Edward comes in the book. But now I’m completely convinced that they picked the right actors. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the movie will turn out.
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:11 amI’m really worried that James didn’t bite Bella. That is one of the most important parts of Twilight, in my opinion. Lets hope I’m just missing something.
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:17 amAlright, I don’t know if it’s just me that thinks this, but the special effects on the transitioning is kinda weirding me out. I dunno. But the movie from what I can tell in this scene is defiantly going in the right direction.
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:21 ami know a lot of people who are disappointed with this scene because it isnt exactly like the book, but i beg to differ. the movie is going to be different than the book becasue you cant express everything the same way in this type of adaption. i think that the movie crews are doing a spectacular job and they should keep up the good work. the scene was amazing! im going to continue to keep and eye on the twilight movie over at the mtv movie blog for sure!
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:21 ameven though they changed a few things, i think that it’s still ahmazin!
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:26 amit looks AWESOME!!! judging by this scene, i think that it will be great!!!!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:28 amI know, I know, It’s not exactly how I imagined it in my head but it was still GREAT. I watched it on TV and I was screaming and jumping around like crazy I didn’t hear anything and I had to watch it online to actually know what was going on.
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:31 amIt’s a bit different than what I expected. That aside, They can’t make it picture perfect for every twilight fan. I am still happy with how it is going. I think the movie is headed in the right direction.
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:33 amI thought some parts of it were ridiculous . Pepper spray, Bella ? Really ? Silly humans …
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:38 amBut I’m still going to see the movie . This was such a great treat from Summit and MTV . I thought the quality was great, and the acting was pretty good, too .
: )
I cannot believe how wonderful this is. It proves just how magnificent the movie will be. I love the look Edward gives Bella right before James attacks him. As with the trailer, there are a few minor errors. However, I still have such high hopes for the movie. The cast is wonderful and the movie is going to be great. I just can’t wait for it to come out. XD
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:39 amWhen I sat down in front of my TV during the MTV Movie Awards Pre-Show, I mentally prepared myself for disappointment. After all, the anticipation and hype that had been building up certainly must lead to an anti-climax. And so I curled up on my sofa with a bowl of popcorn and prepared myself. I probably began screaming in excitement about 2 or 3 seconds into the clip. It was so, so good! And I was wrong about the disappointment, by the way. When Edward stared at Bella, injured and mangled on the floor, like he couldn’t believe or even process the horror that lay before him, my heart about broke in half. His eyes were so sad! I felt like crying. So now we know that Rob isn’t just eye-candy, he’s an amazing actor. Kristen and Cam were also unbelievable in this scene.
Another great part of the clip was when James has his hand around Edward’s neck and then Edward growled, “I’m strong eneough to kill you.” Sent shivers up my spine. Rob’s American accent is impeccable. And dead sexy!
12/12/08 — why aren’t you here yet?
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:51 amThe scene looks amazing, though it would’ve een nice to hear the sound along with it. I’m still dying to see this movie! I may actually have to drag myself to the theatre instead of just waiting to buy the DVD.
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:54 amI dunno…:( I’m thinking that ( you’re gonna hate me!) that the whole jumping james thingy is a little lame. I don’t think it looks real. Other than that, it’s awesome! I love the look on Edward’s face! I wish they had made Bella look a little more HURT. She’s just kind of sitting there. I dunno, im a little undecided!
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:56 amI think the scene was okay, I wish they had shown us something we hadn’t already seen when watching the filming clips, but hey, it was a scene… I think the flying thing is kind of weird, I mean it makes it a little more cliched, vampires and bats flying, but I think the actors look amazing as the characters and that it looks dark and romantic and I cannot wait until it comes out!
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:12 amthe scene is ok. I was really hoping they would show a different scene since this one was used for all the behind-the-scene stuff and everything. but I was still excited to see it. ^.^
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:15 amI liked the scene, but I think I liked it more because I think Cam and Rob are totally hot (fan girl attack). But I can’t watch it when James slams Edward’s head into the mirror, even tho I know it’s fake, and I know it wouldn’t hurt Edward, it hurts me to watch it. Lame, I know.
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:15 amThere are a few differences from the book, but I think the producers and directors and taking it in the right direction and trying to keep it as close to the book as possible–if they’re smart, they realize that the fans will revolt if it’s too far off from the book!
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:16 amI’m not sure if I like all of the white flashes, but other than that, Catherine Hardwicke is doing an awesome job with the editing, and the actors are amazing.
I do believe the producers are taking it in the right direction.
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:23 amAnd of course, MTV had the first clip. Shame.
I absolutely love the clip. I think Cam does a great job as James, and Kristen really conveys the emotions of Bella very well. I seriously can’t wait until December 12.
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:24 amI love how James looks really scary in the scene. Edward also looks very worried for Bella, I love the concern in his eyes.
The music is an excellent choice as well.
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:26 ami LOVED the scene!! i liked how when james got up from being knocked over by edward, his arm flung behind him and there was this “snake-like” sound. i think it really shows how fast his reflexes are. i also liked the intensity between edward and bella when they were looking at each other. great scene!
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:30 amooh, i loved that scene. i thought it was really cool…but at the same time a little odd. it was kinda weird…
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:31 amI LOVED this scene. If this is what the rest of the movie will be like i’ll be a happy woman.
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:33 amFor this scene, did they cut out some scenes (but will show them in the movie)? Because James is supposed to bite Bella but it doesn’t show that and it just seems like a really short clip considering it’s such an important part of the whole series. If they add some more clips into this scene in the movie then I love the clip, but if this is supposed to be the whole scene then I don’t like it all that much.
This post might not make sense btw. lol
(And BTW I would like to be entered in the draw please.
)
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:36 amI loved this scene, but I thought it was a little too short for all the suspense building up to it! I also thought that the look that Edward gives Bella is a little strange, and then she looks like she is afraid of him, which is not in the book (in the book she’s already half-unconcious when Edward gets there). I’m a little afraid that the movie will focus a little too much on the violence and battle scenes and not enough on the romantic aspects. But the scene makes me scream with excitement every time!
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:41 amThe movie is going the right direction but in this scene they should have worked more on Edward’s attire. I don’t think our sassy vampire wears vests like that. Regardless, he can still pull off the vest and look sexy at the same time. haha
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:41 amI was going crazy over this sceen! I made my whole family watch this sceen when they did’t want to! I was screaming so loud that everyone thought I was crazy! Well I am a tad bit obsessed, but who cares. =P After I watched it though I was a bit dissapointed. I mean where was the leg breaking and hand biteing and Bella was supossed to be unconscious when Edward shows up. But I am still looking foward to the movie.
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:43 amWhen I first saw this scene during the MTV Movie Awards, I thought it looked too dark. But after seeing it on the internet more clearly and without screaming, I think I love this scene.
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:46 amI laughed at Bella’s sad attempt with the pepper spray and automatically noticed the broad differences between the book and the movie. The movie certainly makes Edward seem much more heroic…and faster. Haha
OH MY GOSH!!! this is so making me crazy! I’m going to so see a midnight showing of Twilight!!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:54 amI….CAN’T….WAIT!!!!!! Such awesome effects and I don’t get it when Edward looks at Bella all weird and stuff but still an AWESOME scene. Also, too much breathing!! They’re all ” *huff* I can*huff* kill*huff* you!!*huff huff*” Still great….
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:57 amIt seems like they’re playing up the action scenes much more for the movie. I think it’s a smart move, since it’s a great way to broaden the potential audience.
on June 16th, 2008 at 12:00 pmI don’t think I am going to be able to wait for this to come out!!!!!! Jeesh, like hurry up!!!! I absolutely and positively love the actor playing James. And the studio is exactly how I pictured it.
But sadly, they changed it so much. The book is perfect, so why does Edward come that early? And how is Bella going to be bitten when he’s there??? I guess the movie just needs more violence for the main stream, but at least I get to see Edward fight. YAY!!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 12:01 pmI hope in the full scene we’ll be able to see some more action… And it’s understandable that they made Bella conscious, though it does kind of look like she’s wavering there…maybe, a little bit.
on June 16th, 2008 at 12:12 pmI was surprised that they showed this scene. I forced my brothers to watch it when it was showed right before the movie awards, and I missed the first…well, minute, because I was wondering about the fact that they actually showed that scene! It was the last one I expected them to show.
Anyway…I love it, and I can’t wait!
I LOVE THE FIGHT SCENE…. very well played (and the effects are amazing)
I do not understand when “Bella” raises and then lowers her hand… very distracting
Robert is growing on me (NOT AS EDWARD…..just growing)… and the look he made (how desperate he was to save her)….. SOOOOOO CUTE
on June 16th, 2008 at 12:14 pmAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness!!!!! I can hardly type this!!!! That was so amazing I don’t have words to describe it!!! Although, I saw no leg crushing or hand biting. And wasn’t Bella supposed to be unconscious when Edward shows up?? Oh well, I guess they movie can’t be EXACTLY like the book. I’m still VERY excited!
on June 16th, 2008 at 12:15 pmI was actually a little disappointed in this clip. They made such a big deal about it for days, but then it really wasn’t anything we hadn’t already seen… plus it was really short. I mean, I LOVE the clip, but the hype around it wasn’t really warranted… the movie is going to be amazing though!
on June 16th, 2008 at 12:21 pmI don’t think that this scene follows the book all that great – pepper spray? And I never saw James bite Bella! But, I know that it’s hard to translate a book into a movie, so I’m not too upset about it. In fact, I love this scene so far, and I know the actors are going to do a great job!
on June 16th, 2008 at 12:26 pmI once again had to re-adjust my thinking after I watched this on MTV (movie awards). My friend and I screamed for a good 5 minutes straight. But when I actually thought about it, I was like “Why is Bella still awake?!” and “Why did she have blood on her hand? and James resisted it!” But hey, I don’t know what came before, or what’s coming after that tidbit. WHY CAN’T IT BE DECEMBER 12TH ALREADY!? Actually, I don’t mind waiting for stuff. I like being excited. The scene was cool, and the look that Edward gives Bella just about knocks me off my feet. :]
on June 16th, 2008 at 12:29 pmwow, all i can say is…
on June 16th, 2008 at 12:33 pmi just get the chills everytime
i watch this.
i cant wait to go see it!
i am counting down the days!
i love summit entertainment!!!
While I was intitially thrilled about this scene, I was stilled very slightly disappointed. Nonetheless, I’m still in love with it. Rob looks awesome, as does Cam. I was slightly perplexed by the pepper spray, but I can let that slide. I plan on going to a midnight release of the movie, if there is one. I can’t wait.
on June 16th, 2008 at 12:38 pmI am going to spontaneously combust. This movie can’t come out quick enough. I am so totally in love with Robert Pattinson in this scene. Especially when he looks at Bella. His expression… I love the way he looks!!! I’m sure there will be a few minor setbacks, by I still think this movie is going to be fabulous.
on June 16th, 2008 at 12:57 pmI was a little disappointed in this first scene. I thought Rob’s acting was a little off when he first came into the dance studio, and then I realized ‘Isn’t Bella suppose to be passed out by the time Edward comes?’ I’m worried that they are going to change a lot of things in the movie, but I’m sure everything will work out fine and the movie will be amazing. =]
on June 16th, 2008 at 2:12 pmThis scene is an even bigger energy booster than the trailer. I LoVE the look Edward gives Bella it’s filled with frustration, love, fear, sadness all in one single look, i did have my doubts about Robert Pattinson but he seems to be doing a good job as do all of the amazing twilight creators and actore/actresses. I will most definitley see the movie. Most likely more than once, and of course no matter how it turns out I would be obligated to by the movie as the dedicated and obsessed twilighter i am loll
on June 16th, 2008 at 2:12 pmI had to wait forever to see the first scene. I just moved into a new house and had to wait two weeks to get internet and cable so I couldn’t watch it all. It was immense torture! When I saw it, I nearly had a heartattack. It was everything and more! I loved the stunning cinematography and special effects. They were incredible in just that one scene. Cam, Kristen, and Robert all do marvelous jobs at portraying their characters. I can’t wait for the movie to come out! It is simply going to be amazing!
on June 16th, 2008 at 2:19 pmI added the link to a group on fbook!
:):)
I didn’t imagine Robert Pattinson as Edward in my head….
Let’s see if he plays the character well..
Can’t wait to go see Twilight!
on June 16th, 2008 at 2:20 pmMy favorite line, “I’m strong enough to kill you” Wham! James goes flying…totally awesome. I also love how Bella sprays something in James’ face. She is very bold.
on June 16th, 2008 at 2:25 pmAfter about a million replays I was finally able to comprehend the scene. Even seeing it now gives me chills. I can’t wait!
on June 16th, 2008 at 2:37 pmI feel like they skipped parts of this scene like they didn’t want to show us to much if you watch it enough it almost seems to jump a little bit to the next part. i’m not completely sure of what i think of the scene yet cause i don’t feel its finished.
on June 16th, 2008 at 2:38 pmI think the movie was cast really well – I get chills watching this scene, James is so great! And I love the look between Edward and Bella. The scene might not be 100% accurate, but it definitely has the mood and intensity down. Can’t wait to see more!
on June 16th, 2008 at 2:48 pmI know that the movie will never be able to be EXACTLY like the book, but I think, so far from what I have seen it isn’t too far off. I am looking forward to it and enjoy all of the little snippets I get.
I think the actor playing James (Cam something isn’t it?) is cast perfectly. He makes a good bad guy.
My hopes for this movie are high. I just hope, hope, hope that it isn’t another one where I can’t help but comment, “that’s not how it happened in the book” and totally annoy my husband.
Afterall he said he would quit watching movies with me if I kept comparing them to the books. I just hope I don’t feel cheated.

on June 16th, 2008 at 2:52 pm*HEART ATTACK*
on June 16th, 2008 at 2:53 pmthis made me sooo much more excited for the movie!! i love the way that edward looks at bella!!! ahhh! its magical!! yay!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 2:53 pmthis scene pretty much made my life.
it looks great !
i think they’re doing a brilliant job with the movie.
that scene was perfect, and i can’t wait to watch the whole thing !
from beginning to end !
my best friend and i are already planning on taking that day off from school so we can see every showing at the cinema on december 12th !
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:04 pmI was so excited fo this clip and then i was way dissapointed. Bella never sees edward for crying out loud!!! She is already unconscious from pain and junk that she NEVER SEES HIM!!! SHE THINKS SHE IS DEAD WHEN SHE HEARS HIS VOICE AFTER JAMES WAS KILLED! i thought that they would get it right but now i am nervous. i still wil go and see it at midnight. If i could get a ride at midnight…
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:07 pmmy parents were about to have me admitted to a mental hospital..they i was just staring at the screen..and the jumping up and down/running around the house yelling OMG!! after it was done!! It was the best minute of my life!! AHHHH!! i so CAN NOT wait till December 12th..no really im probably going to die of excitment!!! My friends and me are going to go see the movie the first day it comes out about a million times!!! (no matter what..lolz) people want to stop us..i’d like to see them try..but i hope they realize they are going agaist five over obsessive Twilight fan girls..*ouch* i feel sorry for them.
Cant wait till december 12th!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:13 pmthe fight scene is the most powerful scene in Twilight, I believe. The acting is amazing- the look of hunger and greed in James’ eyes, the wide innocence, fear, but yet courage in Bella’s eyes, and the worry and fear (for Bella, NOT for him), in Edward’s eyes. Since the scene is dark, I think that the eyes are the one think that you can really look for and all of them do it so well. Especially Kristen Stewart- the pain and intensity that you feel just from watching her is extraordinary!
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:14 pmI did notice, though, that they changed up the fight scene. In the book, you don’t see all of that fight and pretty much all of the other Cullens were there to help Edward. I don’t know if I like this approach yet, where Edward comes quickly, alone. We’ll see how it turns out in the movie!
oh, and Brittany K. ill give you a ride!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:15 pmI’m not going to drool over this video.
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:16 pmWhy?
I think that it looks a TINY BIT fake.. Bella doesn’t seem how she does in the book.
Plus, what’s with the flying vampires??
Um, they’re not really supposed to fly.
Also, James’ fingers on Edward’s neck down look like he’s actually choking him. I don’t really believe him. =(
So, I’m a little disappointed.
SPUNK RANSOM! lol
*This is an entry*
After viewing this clip I was worried because it doesn’t completely follow what Stephenie Meyer said however I understand that with movies it’s never going to be the same. I can only hope for the best from Catherine Hardwick and her team.
I do love the effects of showing how fast they move. Robert’s part where he is just staring at Kristen is lovely but I’m confused on that part. Cam also did a good job as being the bad guy.
I’m assuming that this clip is still not fully done. I think once everything is put together it will look really awesome and blow us out of the water. It’s in the process of being badass.
Another entry please. =)
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:26 pmI’m not gonna lie it is a pretty good action scene but it’s seems really off from the book. Bella dosent use peper spray and she should be almost nocked out when Edward arrives. Also its bella’s head that hits the morrior not edward and we never read about Edward fighting james or even talking to him. But i guess its whtever the director wants.
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:29 pmIt looks good, I can’t wait to see the movie. I haven’t read the book yet, so I don’t know how close it is to it, I hope they stick close to the book though.
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:35 pmAgain…more of an action movie than a romance. The special effects are a little cheesy but it looks okay. It looks like we will be seeing a fight scene between the Cullens and James and Victoria. That should be exciting, maybe. It is a little disappointing to be honest, but better than other book turned movies.
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:40 pmOMG i saw this on MTV preshow when they 1st aired it and watched it again on my tivo 11 times!!!! =D
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:45 pmits EXACTLY how i pictured it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This movie is so ttly gonna rock!!!!!!!!!!!
Aaammaayyyzziinng! The stunts are really cool! I still wonder what Edward was feeling when he was looking at her. Was it the blood taking over him or was that a worried look? I think Rob has done really well on his accent too.
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:46 pmI’m still worried about the movie. I know it won’t be exactly like the book, but i think they could have done a better job with the vampires ability to ‘run’ fast. In the clip, James and Edward look like they’re ‘jumping’ instead of ‘running’. I really hope the entire movie is not going to be like that!
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:51 pmi LOVE this scene…Edward looks BEAUTIFUL like you can see the pain in his face when he sees Bella..i cant stop watching it omg like it PERFECT you can SEE the love between them..and James is protrayed in the best way possible..i love his evilness =)
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:51 pmoooh – looks scary. guess I will have to see this after all.
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:52 pmThe scene looks well done and everything, but I honestly can’t say that I love it. There’s too much that’s different. First of all, Bella is not supposed to be conscious when Edward arrives. And secondly, why is she not all beat up and covered in blood? Bella is supposed to be very badly hurt, but here she only looks shaken and scared. I don’t see why this had to be changed… doing it right and making her hurt and bloody or whatever would have only made the movie more thrilling and exciting.
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:53 pmMy friends and I watched this scene over and over again nonstop. We even went and deciphered each little detail to try and figure out what they have changed and how the scene is edited. We’re pretty obsessed. Please enter me in the contest!! Thanks!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 3:53 pmso i watched this clip about a trillion times. everytime im on my computer (which is everyday) i watch this… A LOT! i hypervenalate everytime they show edward! he loooks soo amazing! i truly think this movie will be awesome! i do think its going in the right direction, i have complete faith in the cast and crew!
on June 16th, 2008 at 4:02 pmlol i watched this on MTV live and i missed it because i couldnt stop laughing about the pepper spray! but the effects are awesome…….but that wasnt actually a “completed scene” like they said it would..
p.s. entry for book contest
on June 16th, 2008 at 4:38 pmi think this was awesome.
on June 16th, 2008 at 4:41 pmof course the movie isn’t going to be exactly like the book and alot of people are complaining about that but im just happy they are making a movie out of these amazing books. they picked an amazing james.
i wish the was more edward, but i loved it all the same.
on June 16th, 2008 at 4:41 pmi love it
on June 16th, 2008 at 4:45 pm..
but i still want more
:]
I thought the scene was okay, definitely different from the book. I wonder how they are going to work the bite in though because she was unconscious during much of the action in the book. I also wonder if the parts that weren’t in the book because she was out of it will line up with the scene as it will appear in Midnight Sun (from Edward’s perspective).
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:00 pmYay for another entry!
Even though it is different, I think that it works. I can see why they changed this part a little.
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:16 pmWell after seeing the scene….again…i definetely agree that the action scene will be GREAT!!…..althought there is a side effect on watching the scene again: the feeling of wanting more and having to wait unti december 12…..0o0o well…..One thing i have to say Cam is going to play an amazing James…so will Rob as Edward and Kristen as Bella…..
Can’t wait until december 12..
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:21 pmOkay, I have to say, I don’t like it. I don’t the fact that it’s a fight between Edward and James. I don’t know. I like Stephenie’s way, but then this could’ve happened while Bella is out of it on the floor. This is just my first reaction; I’ll probably like it later.
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:27 pmThe clip was definitely cool (:, but there were some parts where it lacked twilightness.
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:30 pmSuch as the flying part, i felt that it was not vampire enough, and that it was pretty slow for a vampire.
Also, I’ve always remembered that bella was unconcious when edward comes….
it lacks alot of action, but i guess that’ll be apart of the actual movie (:
nonetheless, I’m extremely eager for the movie!!
Did they really use a white flash in the middle of a scene? White flashes should be used for a purpose – for effect in fast paced montages, perhaps – or to transition to a flashback. But in the middle of a dramatic scene? I really hope that doesn’t stay.
I can already tell that I will like Edward better than Bella in the movie – I just think Rob does a better of being Edward than Kristen does of being Bella.
I agree with everyone else about it being odd to see Bella awake during the scene. At this point in the book if she were awake, I think she would be fighting for Edward, not cowering in the corner. Which is why she should be unconscious, the way Stephenie wrote it!
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:36 pmI loved it when I saw it, out of pure excitement. Then I remembered Bella is not conscious for this part, BUT I still loved the clip and I think that since it’s Hollywood they need to have a little action so it’s all good =)
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:36 pmThe finished clip is very good. I hope the movie does well. Cindi
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:42 pmI have seen this scene a thousand times!!! I love it… Edward’s face when he sees Bella hurt is PRECIOUS!!! This will definitely be a great climatic scene!
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:43 pmI really liked the scene, even though they did change it up a bit… but im totally ok with it and this clip just made me more excited for the movie!!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:44 pmI love the feeling in this scene.. And I love how Bella was conscious for it. It really does feel like a horror movie, but I hate how James jumps instead of runs unnaturally fast.
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:47 pmIf I wasn’t excited enough by the trailer, I am truly excited now! It looks so good and I think they are going in the right direction.
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:49 pmis it strange that the little voice in my head screams out “SPUNK RANSOM!” and “GLOBAL WARMING” during the clip? haha, i blame smokeyfizz

)
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:55 pmI love the scene, could’ve been longer, though
(another entry for the contest
Enter me in the contest. The Cullens Rule. Can’t wait to read Breaking Dawn and see Twilight the Movie.
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:57 pmok so when i saw it i started hyperventilating..
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:58 pmbut then i think they added alot of wierd things and they cutalot of thjings from the books.
wich i admits bugs me a bit.
but still its TWILIGHT!
I love this scene. It’s my favorite part in the book! (If you’re not counting when they’re in the field :]) So, to answer your question, I do think that they’re going in the right direction. In the book, Bella in supposed to be unconscious, but I think that by having her conscious, it puts you on the edge of your seat even more. I mean, like, just imagine. If she were unconcious, it wouldn’t be as exciting! But, I just hope she’s not conscious while the Cullens destroy James. Bella’s supposed to find out how to kill a vampire in Ecplise! I’d go by the book. Anyway, My favorite part of that clip of the scene is when Edward says, “I’m strong enough to kill you.” So exciting!
on June 16th, 2008 at 5:59 pmYes!! the movie i sooooo going in the right derecion!
But the part that I don’t get is…why does Bella attemt to spray ..pepper spray… at James? A vampire (EVIL) more powerful than spray…
BUT I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE MOVIE!!!
*Screams and jumps up and down*
YAY!!! (Please submit me 4 the contest)
on June 16th, 2008 at 6:11 pmYea, I’ve watched it. It’s cool. The movie looks great! I want to watch it. Only, what did she spray at James? It can’t be her pepper spray, or it wdidn’t follow the story.
on June 16th, 2008 at 6:11 pmokay i was totally disappointed with this clip….. i hope this is not the finished product. i’ve saw other previews that i’ve liked but this one was just….eh.
on June 16th, 2008 at 6:21 pmThe trailer looked great but I didn’t really like this scene all that much…maybe I need to see it in context. It may just be me, but I didn’t like all the slow motion junk. That said, I’m still going to go see the movie
on June 16th, 2008 at 6:23 pmpepper spray? hmm..gotta keep an open mind. im a little sad that they used that scene becuase it doesn’t show the the first time watchers anything about the main focus of the whole movie: Bella and Edward’s love for each other. plus it was such a vital scene to show so early. they probably had to cut alot in between the clip because it was really fast paced.
on June 16th, 2008 at 6:28 pmI thought it was a good clip and that they are moving in the right direction. But I also thought, “Wow, this is going to be so cool on the big screen.”
on June 16th, 2008 at 6:34 pmi literally watched this 50 times (not that i counted or anything but around there) i think this scene is going to be so cool. every member of the cast keeps saying that this is the scene that they are most excited for and i have to agree with them. though, i think that the rest of the movie will be just as amazing or even better
on June 16th, 2008 at 6:58 pmI love that scene… it is incredible, breathtaking. Other than the whole flying thing, I absolutely love it, despite some other differences. But overall, I am so anxious for the movie to come out… I am going to see it on the day it is released… I dont care what it takes. I am so freaking anxious!!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:02 pmI literally stood up when i heard this on T.V. i was sitting right in front of the television watching the MTV pre show, just waiting. lol, i screamed and i jumped and i cheered. I had my mouth open by the end and thank god for DVR i rewound it and i watched it in slow motion. I have even watched the parodies online. This scene just has me wanting more it’s driving me insane!
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:03 pmI really liked it! The acting was great, and I have to confess… I LOVE ROBERT PATTINSON!! I think he’s gorgeous! But yeah, they all did a great job. To be honest, the only part that kind of bothered me was the part when James was like, “Still stubborn aren’t…Is that why you’re special to Edward?”… It was just kind of weird. But still, CAN’T WAIT TILL THE MOVIE!!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:07 pmI watched the clip and the movie is going generally in the right direction. I mean it is not exactly like the book but hey I guess they had to modified it. Also some of the stunts could have been a little better. The wire work is really noticable. But hey maybe it will be better visually on the big screen. Since I loved the books some much I will probably go ahead see the movie anyways.
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:12 pmI love how the scene doesn’t follow the book. I would MUCH rather see them kill James then just have the screen black out at that part. Its more exciting, like the part in Eclipse where Edward kills Victoria. And after all, it is a movie BASED on the book; not EVERY little detail will be the same.
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:22 pmI was kinda disappointed with the scene.. But that’s okay! I hope the rest of the movie is really good. But seriously. Why is James trying to strangle Edward? Uhh, hello? He doesn’t need to breathe.
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:25 pmPlease please please let the rest of the movie be better!
Vampire fighting pWns. Bella seems to gasp alot, doesn’t she? Kind of reminiscent of Frodo Baggins in the LOTR films. All he did for the entirety of the movies was roll his eyes back in his head and faint. I hope Bella is more awesome than that.
James is seriously creepy. I’m watching this scene with my cousin and she’s nodding in agreement. A lot.
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:29 pmI was REALLY excited for this, but fell disapointed for how short it was. I am also wondering this……. Why would Bella have pepper spray and spray James with it? COME ON! She has got to have known that it would not affect him, just get him more mad.
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:32 pmfirst thought: TOO SHORT!!!!
But then again…anything other than the whole movie will be too short for me =P.
Even the whole movie will probably be too short too.
Anywhoo… I think it was smart of them to put in the whole pepper spray, that was funny,it also shows a lot about Bella. Also the part where james is trying to strangled edward, which is like impossiblewas fuuny.!! (but i’m not sure if they meant that to be funny)
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:32 pmI am a bit worried because now I think that the Catherine got a little Special Effect-happy. Thw whole ‘flying vampire’ thing put me on edge. But the acting and chemistry between Kristen and Robert(Spunk) made it better.
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:33 pmI CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE, even if it isn’t exactly the same. I hope that when I watch it, I will get the same feelings as I did while reading the book.
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:37 pmum, first off, is that PEPPER SPRAY?
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:45 pmand second, i swoon over robert’s voice. its so deep and awesome…lolol
and is a clip cut out? because when james throws bella into the wall, she is bitten?…i’m confused at that part.
and i love Catherine Hardwicke’s vision. i love all of her movies.
i really loved this scene! but what confused me was the pepper spray part and the part where edward literally wants to eat bella. though i am now more than ever excited about this movie! i hope the rest of the movie will also please me and to all the twilight fans!
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:49 pmWHY WOULD YOU SPRAY A VAMPIRE WITH PEPPERSPRAY! I don’t get that part… oh well… i still can’t wait to see the movie!
This scene was awesome!
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:53 pmIDK I like the WAY they are filming but that scene didn’t go like it did in the book and that kinda inhales violently(sucks)
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:55 pmI love this part of teh book it looks like it was done really well and the james is just like i had pictured him!
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:57 pmI CAN WATCH THIS LIKE A THOUSAND TIMES AND I STILL LOVE IT!!! I CAN NOT WAIT FOR IT TO COME OUT!!!!!!!!! YOUR BOOKS ARE AWSEAM!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE TWILIGHT!!!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 7:59 pmAHH!!! i still cannot wait to see the movie
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:04 pmI loved the scene. The pepper spray was weird but, a little like Bella. Of course, Robert was perfect and James too. I understand that they couldn’t have Bella unconscious for this. I wish she was more bloody but, it is a younger audience. I am okay with the jumping because it makes it more action. Overall, I am excited!
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:08 pmI always like reading people’s comments about this scene. A lot of close-minded people out there! All I can say is, this can’t be worse than any of the Harry Potter movie adaptations, and I line up to see all those on opening night
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:17 pmThe pepper spray was kinda strange. Well, the intensity of the scene makes up for it. THe on screen chemistry with Kristen and Spunk *giggle* was *faint* amazing.
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:25 pmI really feel like the movie is going in the right direction. I thought that they would ruin the movie by not going along with the book, but that’s not the case at all! I’m so glad that they are really trying to stick to the book..and that scene is so intense!
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:28 pmI like the path the movie is on so far. The acters they picked out are extremely good! They were very good at portraying the intesity of the scene.
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:38 pmI kind of wishes they would have shown a different part from the movie because there have already been some clips of behind the scenes from this section of the movie. I am still VERY excited about the movie, and I will definitely being seeing it at least once on Dec 12th! It already looks great and it WILL be great!
on June 16th, 2008 at 8:43 pmI’m not sure bout this scene. It seems that a lot of it is missing I mean wan’t James supposed to really mess Bella up before Edward showed up. And wasn’t there a bite as well. hmmmm im not sure maybe im wrong but i was pretty sure it was all before Edward showed up. Aside from that I think that they did a good job. I like the effects, the actors are amazing in potraying the right emotions and the jumping and running it really gives you an idea on how fast vampires really are:D
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:16 pmeww! Did any one else see Edward bleeds on the mirror? and Bella is supposed to be bleeding all over, and Edward doesn’t fight James. ahhh! But of course I’m going to go to the movie. Plus some of the actors fit okay. Well I hope it turns out okay. I just don’t want anyone judging the book by the movie. ps I am so excited for the prize drawing, I want to be entered. I am such a twilighter.
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:19 pmI need to see this movie!!! I screamed once i saw this clip!! I love the look that Edward gives Bella!! It’s really hot
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:40 pmCANTWAITCANTWAITCANTWAITCANTWAIT!!!!!!
I mean, obviously there are going to be points in the movie where every hardcore Twilight fan will just cringe but it really looks like it’s going to be amazingly good.
I’m really exciteedddd!
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:43 pmThis is exciting. Although some aspects of this scene bug me (the vampires’ ability to fly…o.0…and Bella’s pathetic pepperspray attempt) it has a great energy and I love the dynamic between James and Edward. The movie will be awesome!!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:52 pmI am entering in the SM giveaway.
Wow. This looks so great! I cannot wait, but I am so glad I got to see this scene. The movie will DEFINITELY be fantastic! I’m entering the contest too.
on June 16th, 2008 at 9:59 pmplease please please please please please please enter me in your awesome contest.
I hope I’m not bugging you, but please I would love to win, ( I know who doesn’t right?) this is going to make a great present for my cousin, once I showed her the series back in 2004, she LOVED them so much, I let her borrow twilight, but now she really wants the series, I was going to give them to her on her bday in october, but I never had the chance. This would be a great present.
thank you for your time.
you are awesome
SM you ROCK!
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:12 pmBella honey, just because you forgot the pepper spray in port angeles DOESN’T you can make up for it against a VAMPIRE! I love Jame’s growl when she sprayed him too. I can’t wait to see the movie, is it december yet!!!? i’m entering the contest.
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:14 pmso the controversial pepper spray. A little strange, no? I honestly don’t think its that big of a deal.
Anyways I loves this scene! Aside from the fact that it strays from the book a bit it really has that movie magic!!!
I reallythink people who haven’t read the books are going to want to go see this movie. Actually I know this because my friend who says she will not read the books at all costs said the movie looks really really good!
Anyways please enter me in the contest!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:21 pmI was actually surprised that this was the first scene they released, since it’s at the end of the book. Oh well. It looks good though. I was really curious how they were going to do that scene without showing Bella getting totally trashed.
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:21 pmWow, this is amazing. It’s not exactly like the book, but I expected that. I love action scenes from movies, as long as it doesn’t involve too much direct view of the killing. I can’t wait for the movie to come out.
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:28 pmI about died of excitement when i saw this clip. This just proves that Catherine has done a wonderful job on this film. It’s getting alot of bad comments about how its different than the book, however, in the book bella is unconcious the entire fight scene, so we dont really know how the fight went. Im really looking forward to seeing how Catherine inturpreted it!!
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:36 pmI find it is a good scene for a movie, in general, but just doesn’t have the same intensity present in the book. Many of the details, and concepts in the book are missing, but the same feel is present. It captures Bella’s fear and strength, but less of her pain, and agony. In the books Bella was hurt much more than is shown here, and Edward appears later on, and is not the one to attempt killing James. One of my favorite things about Edward in this portion of the book was how he managed to control not only his bloodlust but is desire to kill James. He put both those aside to help Bella, and to ultimatly save her life. The scene was well done, just too different from the book for my likings.
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:57 pmI think they cut some stuff out just before James walks up with the video camera. Also, what does Bella spray on James, pepper spray? Wouldn’t she know it wouldn’t do anything?
on June 16th, 2008 at 10:59 pmI think the movie is going to be pretty good. It looks as if they are doing a wonderful job, and Stephenie Meyer seems happy with it. I can’t wait until December.
I would love to be entered to win the Twilight books.
Woo! *fans self* I had my entire house tip-toeing around during the pre-show, lest they made too much noise during the scene.
I also had my mum yelling at me to breathe when it was over.
They certainly nailed the intensity. James is appropriately creepy and my skin just crawled watching it. Robert is perfectly tortured. Drawn to Bella’s blood and love. Worried but captivated.
It’s definitely headed in the right direction.
I would love to be entered into your contest.
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:31 pmOh wow! I saw this one on the Pre-show of the MTV Movie Awards! And you know what? I was extremely excited to see it, but once I saw it, I was a bit disappointed. It seems that if you’re like me and have read the books a gazillion times and have read the news on the movie daily, you would have high expectations. So, I have very high expectations on the movie, which is why I didn’t like this scene so much. I did, however, found this scene to be kinda funny, somehow.
Anyways, I’m still looking forward to seeing the movie even though I was a bit disappointed in what I saw in this scene. (Why did I have to high expectations?…)
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:34 pmI thought that overall, the scene was lacking–but that’s probably due to:
a.) The big white flash in the middle of it all
b.) they did not want to reveal too much about the film in the making of this too short of a clip
also, I thought that the music and the type of little noises made throughout the scene…such as that strange maraca sound through the duration were a little off…and just plain odd.
However, I thought the actors did a superb job in their roles.
Bella was perfectly stubbourn, James was evil, and Edward was both fierce and passionate.
I hope that the movie is better than the clip though
Thanks!
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:48 pmI was really excited when I first watched this scene but once I told my friend to watch it she made me realize that it wasn’t as accurate as I thought it was. But nevertheless I still do want to see the movie, and was glad that my expectations toward the movie wasn’t really high. Only because I knew that the movie would have to be shortened and scenes would have to be cut from the book.
on June 16th, 2008 at 11:56 pmSo excited!Even though I was hoping for something a little longer I think was a great scene to release.so far it looks like the movie is trying to stay true to the books but no movie is ever exactly like the books.
on June 17th, 2008 at 12:07 amThis scene is way to dark for me to see that is what made me mad about it BUT when Edward looks a Bella and she’s thinking like OMG IM IN SO MUCH TROUBLE its like. wow that look is beautiful. The fight scene will be awesome as shown in this clip. You can also tell what great chemistry Rob and Kristen have just by that second that they look at each other
on June 17th, 2008 at 12:23 ami like the scene alot and i think it will fit in with the rest of the movie but i didn’t like it that edward came while bella was still conscious!!! but it still stopped my heart!! the room was awesome!! and james and kristen and rob……
on June 17th, 2008 at 12:31 amThat look! Oh. That look between Edward and Bella took my breath away. During the preshow, my house was as quiet as a church mouse or however the saying goes.
I only wish the clip was longer!
I would love it if this comment could count as an entry in your giveaway.
on June 17th, 2008 at 12:40 amAnother comment from me for the contest entry.
This clip is growing on me. I mean, I was excited from the get go of learning they were even showing ANYTHING!
People, we are truly being pampered by them. They could leave us in the dark, and this is just awesome! True, it’s not going totally along with the book, because then it would be a 10 hour movie. I wouldn’t complain to that, but it would get a little tiresome. And I think they are doing a great job on interpreting it for the big screen.
Natasha, I am so excited. Honestly. I can’t wait.
on June 17th, 2008 at 12:54 amContest Comment!! lol.
I always wanted to see what happened between James and Edward while Bella was unconscious. I mean..I love the next part where she’s screaming (not THAT’s she’s screaming..i’m not that perverse) and think in the book it’s good that she’s unconscious..makes it more…angelic? dream-like?
But in a movie. It has to be 3rd person, it can’t be 1st person unless it’s the camera as the main character. So it’s quite boring if they just center it on what Bella sees..because it should be everyone that is shown as well, if that made any sense.
I believe the book and movie are going to have major differences, but that is needed in order to see it on the screen. I don’t think they are going to take it too far, but it’s going to be practical differences. To show Edward fighting James is, to me, a practical difference. The time when he stared at her with worry and then automatically blood-kill thirst, lust and hungry in his eyes shows on the screen more than the book. In the book she could barely see what was going on around her.
So…yes, I do think the movie is going in the right direction and I’m excited for it.
on June 17th, 2008 at 1:12 amHonestly, I was taken aback when Bella pepper-sprayed(?) James. Really, you think that’d work Bella? I wasnt that wowed over the special effects as well but enters Edward and he brought light and appeal to it. I am really excited for their fight scenes. Im looking forward to that. I hope for more clips like this because I cant wait for the movie!
on June 17th, 2008 at 2:39 amWhile reading Twilight I came across this trailer and was hoping for as much action in the book’s description on the “fight scene” as was shown in on film but I was a little disappointed. I sure can’t wait to see the rest of the book on the silver screen!!!!
on June 17th, 2008 at 4:00 amIf the rest of this movie is anything like this scene, then I think it is going to be fantastic. This scene is so compelling and so well done, it makes me eager to see the rest!
on June 17th, 2008 at 5:48 amhmm, I was a little disapointed by the “first completed scene” of Twilight. In my head when i was reading, I was imaginging Bella in so much more pain, but in this clip she barely seems to be suffering at all, which in a way bugged me. I have no doubt that Kristen will do fabulously, it was just that one thing.
Robert however did wounderful, I really think that he is going to do a good job as Edward. I enjoyed watching him in this, because he (to me,mind you) showed anger, but also showed how much he cared about Bella, in just the simple looks her through her way and towards James.
I don’t know the actor playing James from any other movies. So I was a little unsure how to react when I saw he was cast as James. Now judging from this I think he will be an “ok” actor for the role of James. He was good…not great…but good.
I’m really hoping this movie will meet not only mine but everyone elses expectations. To me, it already looks like it will.
on June 17th, 2008 at 8:19 amI swear I commented on this post already, but I guess I just “stole” it from you and posted it on my blog! Well, anyway, yes, this gets my heart going big time. Especially when Edward gets slammed into the wall. ACKKK!
on June 17th, 2008 at 8:19 amI think you are taking the movie in the right direction! i can tell you are adding a lot more action into the movie so I think that will be really cool!! I also have this clip memorized!!It looks cooler than I imagined and I am dying to hear Bella’s Lullaby! It is so cool that Robert Pattinson is writing it!! I wish I could go to the movie premiere, but I am already going to the breaking Dawn tour so I doubt my parents would let me. The movie is going to be really cool!! I can’t wait to see it!
on June 17th, 2008 at 9:33 amI thought that this clip was ok. I don’t really get wat’s going on in parts of it though. ( And why is James trying to CHOKE Edward? He doesn’t need to breathe!) But I guess that that would be nicer than him like ripping Edward to pieces. That would be kinda’ gory, even w/out the blood and guts…
on June 17th, 2008 at 9:55 amEven though this scene isn’t really like the part in the book, it was still really good. It was kind of upsetting for awhile but then I thought that turning Twilight into a movie wasn’t really a easy thing to do. So I quickly got over it and marveled at how great the characters got into their roles.
on June 17th, 2008 at 10:05 ami’m still alittle worried cause most of the time movies ruin books but it certainly looks intersting
on June 17th, 2008 at 10:22 amSo far the movie looks like it’s going to be good. Whenever I book is made into a movie, I usually go in expecting the worst because it’s impossible to get everything from a book into a movie and sometimes things have to be changed to create more action. This movie looks like it’s going to be pretty good, though. Although, how much can you really tell from a couple minutes?
on June 17th, 2008 at 11:08 amI haven’t made up my mind about this. But if I do see it, I definitely won’t be rereading the book first. I’ll want to view the movie as it’s own thing and not get caught up on what might be different.
on June 17th, 2008 at 12:07 pmi have to agree with jaime on that. i am really excited, and i do think that the movie is going in the right direction, i really think this movie is going to do well. i love the scene, its really nicely done.
on June 17th, 2008 at 12:32 pmOMG I LUV THIS CONTEst! im a big big FAN Of STEPHENIE MEYER AND ALL HER BOOKS! THIS CONTEST IS GREAT PLEASE ENTER ME IN ! YOU GUYS/ GIRLS ROCK! AND GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!
on June 17th, 2008 at 12:37 pmYou do know that somehow this first peek of a full scene of the Twilight movie, is something we’ve seen before. Like in the trailer?!?! I was gradually pissed off because I was hoping for a really good scene that we weren’t expecting, and you have to admit that we’ve all knew about this scene. But what could you expect if you work in the movies industry, you’re trying to get the viewers to actually come and see the movie, not give it all away on television where it’s free.
on June 17th, 2008 at 1:18 pmI can’t believe Bella is so brave!
on June 17th, 2008 at 1:34 pmShe sprayed pepper spray in the lens! This movie is gonna be awesome!
I wondered if James is gonna tell her the story about Alice in the movie just like he did in the book.
I was really excited for the scene to come out! I was soo sad when i missed it on tv cause i forgot the time but of course it was online so i got to see it! ^__^ yay. I have to say though that i didnt really like it. I dont really know why but i dont. maybe i’ll like it better when i see it in the theatre. But anyways it helps to tie me over until the movie comes out! oh but i did wish they had picked a different scene to air but thats just me.
on June 17th, 2008 at 1:44 pmWOW. what an amazing clip- I WANT MORE!!
on June 17th, 2008 at 2:05 pmso many questions burning in my head whether they’re going to add this scene or that from the book. i can’t wait– december 12th couldn’t come any sooner!
Well, it’s a little different from the book, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing
on June 17th, 2008 at 2:36 pmI can’t wait to see how the rest of it turns out.
I love this scene! I get so sad when Edward looks at her

on June 17th, 2008 at 2:39 pmCant wait!
5th entry
ehehe
Hahaaa-love the pepper spray (or whatever it is) part.
on June 17th, 2008 at 3:03 pmWaiting for the movie is going to be even harder. Its a bit different from the book, but I think they’ll pull it off.
I thought the clip was great. I think Cam G. has captured the arrogance and complete “I rock” attitude of James. Rob P also is amazing as Edward. I liked all the mirrors. It makes the scene so much more intense!
on June 17th, 2008 at 3:34 pmI dont like this clip at all. It doesnt go with the book but hey, nothing can be better than the book.
on June 17th, 2008 at 4:49 pmi love love love it. the thing with movies going to books is, sometimes you have to add or delete to make the movie just that…a movie. if you took twilight word for word and turned it into a movie it would only have the readers as fans. but with the action this clip portrays and the way the scene looks, i think itll inspire people who didnt even read the book to go and see the movie. it is excellent
on June 17th, 2008 at 5:16 pmThe movie is definitely going to be awesome.
It might not be just like the book, but It’ll still rock.
on June 17th, 2008 at 5:26 pm:]
I literally got goosebumps when I saw this scene! It’s accurate but different at the same time.
The ballet studio is enormous! It also has a Gothic sense to it, like a Cathedral.
The fight scene was amazing! It’ll definitely keep me on the edge of my seat!!!
Ok, enough ranting about this. I’m just super excited!
on June 17th, 2008 at 5:49 pmWOW!!! Now I deffintly don’t think I can wait until december. Oh my gosh I’m sssoooooo Excited!!!! XD
on June 17th, 2008 at 6:28 pmMeh. I’m kinda disappointed, but I think that it’s just because it’s just a clip and not shown in context with anything from the rest of the movie.
on June 17th, 2008 at 7:21 pmI think they’re doing perfectly! It looks like they’re being as true to the book as is really possible. James is perfect (but maybe a little too good looking for James) and Edward, again, is perfect! It was awesome to see the ballet studio scene brought to life.
on June 17th, 2008 at 7:38 pmI love how they shot this scene but it somewhat disappoints me because Bella, first of all did not use pepper spray and would know that using pepper spray would not help her at all. Second Edward would not let himself be that vulnerable enough for James to even touch him and even if James got the advantage, when Edwards head was smashed into the mirror, he shouldn’t have had a look of pain on his face because that wouldn’t have hurt him at all. Other than those glitches, I think they did a good job shooting it.
on June 17th, 2008 at 7:51 pmI like the scene but its sorta odd like its not going on the right course with the book… but to be honest i sortaish dont mind hahah because my its not my favorite part of the book now if they mess that up well I think I might just walk out of the theater!=]
on June 17th, 2008 at 8:40 pmThis was pretty much amazing. I loveddd it and it really boosted my confidence in the movie. I knew they were gonna take out details from the book, but I wasn’t expecting the details of the ballet room to be removed. It would have definitely be interesting to see James hurting Bella more, but I guess for the James and Edward fight, it makes up for it in a way.
on June 17th, 2008 at 8:42 pmIt looks very good from this clip, and I’ve definitely watched this clip as well as the trailer a good 15 times xD
Thankss for posting this here
What happened to it? It is nothing like in the book. Bella wasn’t hurt enough, and when Edward got there she was unconcious! Edward and James didn’t fight! Emmett and Jasper killed him! I’m really disapointed in this movie so far.
on June 17th, 2008 at 8:47 pmI’ve watched this at least 758376345983240 times. I can’t wait. James is so hot! I know he’s supposed to be ordinary, but. . . I think I like the hot version of him better.
on June 17th, 2008 at 9:06 pmFirst of all I must say that I think that Kristen makes a GREAT Bella, but why does she have pepper spray??? It’s pepper spray, right??? From what I’ve seen of the movie it seems like they did a pretty good job with it all though some thing do seem a little messed up, and I have to say that I’m thinking the same things as Bella here!
Bella Said:
What happened to it? It is nothing like in the book. Bella wasnāt hurt enough, and when Edward got there she was unconcious! Edward and James didnāt fight! Emmett and Jasper killed him!
I guess I’ll just have to wait till December 12th to really see if the movie is good or not!
on June 17th, 2008 at 9:45 pmI haven’t read the book, but the movie looks intense!
on June 17th, 2008 at 10:09 pmI like the scene but I do have a couple of problems with it (sorry!)like how when Edward pushed James off of Bella and James hits the floor and crouches or something, to me the sound effects sound like an insect or something O_0 but I still like the scene aand i think the movie is gonna b AWESOME!!!
on June 17th, 2008 at 10:48 pmTWILIGHT WILL DEFINITALY RULE THE WORLD ONE DAY!!!!
5th
I must have watched this so many times! I think it’s awesome! I mean, Robert, Kristen, and Cam all did an amazing job… just in this one scene! Imagine the whole movie! Their acting took my breath away and I think that they pretty much got this movie down.
I mean, of course it’s not going to be WORD for WORD. A lot of people got angry about the pepperspray, but I don’t think anyone should worry that much. That’s just something that they wanted to include, and it doesn’t ruin the storyline! I actually think that it shows how much they paid attention to the book… I mean the pepperspary was barely mentioned.
WOW!
on June 17th, 2008 at 11:23 pmSo great i cant wait!!!
ps. Edward’s smirk is so sexy!
on June 18th, 2008 at 1:44 amagain people relax this isnt the entire clip from the book they havnt added special effects apart from the jumping things or proper sound or any of those movie stuff that they usually do just have faith that clearly is not what the nearly most important clip in the book is goin to turn out like it was just a taster, i think that it was amazing the way the characters react to eachother especially edward when he is looking at bella i think my eyes melted just a little lol. my love i have found you . SPUNK RANSOM and GLOBAL WARMING is all i have to say , those fans out there know what im talking about
x
on June 18th, 2008 at 3:55 amNot seeing that movie. Just can’t bear to ruin my image of the book.
on June 18th, 2008 at 7:18 amIt’s definitely interesting to say the least. I don’t like that they brought in Edward so early, because I don’t see how Bella will have enough injuries and really get hurt enough to start the ball rolling on the rest of what happens in the book/rest of books & (hopefully) soon to be movies, but maybe they’ll pull through at the last second!
(#5 on the checklist is done!
)
on June 18th, 2008 at 8:02 amI really didn’t like the scene all that much. Again, no other Cullens but Edward. It left something to be desired and it was much to dark.
on June 18th, 2008 at 9:35 am(#5)
i watched it during the mtv movie awards and i screamed and my parents basically were calling me psychotic. yeah. idk y she had pepper spray it says in the book that she hasn’t unpacked it yet. i mean i know it won’t have all the same things but pepper spray? come on. anyways!!! i still am gonna go watch it. i mean i say my b-day is on dec. 12th sometimes. and i once i say it i realized i lied. it still close it on dec 17th actually but still for my mind to be that fixated on twilight. geez. idc though. i still love it!!! my 5th post!!!!
on June 18th, 2008 at 10:30 amthey don’t fly and i don’t think he’s supposed to carry the camera according to the book, but otherwise it was good
on June 18th, 2008 at 11:28 amFrom what I’ve seen, its going to be like Harry Potter. The movie’s great…but if you’ve read the books, its quite a disapointment. =[
on June 18th, 2008 at 11:55 amOkay, have to say you gotta love Cam. He plays an excellent James. I was mesmerized by this scene. Even though it wasn’t like the book,it was extremely riveting. People who are disappointed that the movie isn’t like the book should just forget that they ever read the books and go see the movie with no expectations. Go with a bunch of girlfriends, then if there is a cheesy scene, you can all laugh and make fun. Then, you will enjoy the movie anyway. I think it will be worth watching. And, don’t forget to look for Stephenie.
on June 18th, 2008 at 12:06 pmI think that the movie is going the right way! I really am excited to see it! And that seen is just the right way that I pictured it! It looks really cool and I really like it!
on June 18th, 2008 at 1:35 pmAt first I thought the clips would be cheesy sound effects and action similar to matrix. However the special effects are pretty cool. Hopefully the whole movie won’t disapoint.
on June 18th, 2008 at 1:39 pmJust like the trailer, I’ve watched this scene more than a hundred times. I’m really happy about how everything turned out. It’s not really what I expected it to be, what I pictured when reading, but I really like it. I like how they decided to keep Bella awake when Edward came for her. I really think it’ll be worth seeing.
on June 18th, 2008 at 3:22 pmI watched a recent interview with one of the producers of the film and he said that they are not trying to make Twilight the book a movie, but rather they are trying to make a great movie that people will want to see. He said that there will be scenes added and taken out that might upset some of the readers, but it’s all for the better of the movie itself.
When i first saw this clip I just couldn’t believe it. It was totally awesome. I just wanted get in the room and fight off James and hug Edward. I need they will use sound effects for the fast vampire speed. I love when Edward says, “I am strong enough to kill you.” I literally melted all over my keyboard.
on June 18th, 2008 at 3:29 pmI hate those clips cause it just makes me all the more angrier that it isn’t December 12th already!! All these previews have matched the book really well in my opinion, but the small snips of it are drving me crazzy, I obviously cannnott wait to see the movie! Almost everything seems to be perfect!
on June 18th, 2008 at 3:41 pmOMFG thisn is horrible!
I LOVED the teaser trailer but this scene sucked! Sorry for those who liked it but the only part I liked in this scene was after Edward showed up.
In my opinion it was too flashy to follow, it was like BOOM Bella is here BOOM James is writhing in pain. It was almost impossible to follow!I know that it’s an action movie but they could have made it a bit easier to follow!
Oh and why did they keep those takes with Kirsten? she was horrible in this scene! Granted it was her first day but she was like EMOTIONLESS! She didn’t look scared, confused, hurt, or trying to keep her emotions in check. It was just nothing on her face. Ugggg!
on June 18th, 2008 at 4:13 pmi absolutely loved this scene!
on June 18th, 2008 at 4:50 pmit was AMAZING !
rob and kristen look soo good,
and cam is perfect for the “bad guy”.
this was great acting,
and for all those people who didnt like it,
im pretty sure that the scene had the middle taken out of it. i saw a special behind the scenes thing and they showed a lot more things,
so i dont think this was the WHOLE scene,
but it was still AWESOME !!
More cruel and unusual punishment!!! I can’t take it anymore!!
Kudos to the production team on this. They have done an amazing job with the special effects.
I know that we will all go watch this and then sit there and nit-pick it a part, but they really have done a magnificent job.
I think they’ve chosen all of the right actors (mostly) they are all going to put so much effort into this.
So, one more time- I CAN”T WAIT FOR DECEMBER 12TH!!! AAAAHHHH!!!!
on June 18th, 2008 at 5:12 pmAs I said in my comment about the movie trailer, I think the movie is going the best it can go.
We all know it will never be as good as the books but at least the Twilight saga isn’t going on unheard of. It is being reconized as the amazing book it is.
I think all of us Twilighters should be grateful for all the other Twilighters in the world. Hopefully this movie will open the book to more people.
We’ll always be the starter, but don’t you want other people to feel the things you felt becasue of these books. And don’t you want Stephenie Meyer to have enough money to send her kids to college ;]
on June 18th, 2008 at 5:43 pmThe trailer is still my favorite, but I’m so grateful that Summit and MTV allowed us to view the scene so early on. Again, I had more spasm attacks. (lol) I could barely enjoy it. The only thing I didn’t like was that it was so dramatic. Like, intense. But I guess it’s because this is the climax, and they’ve built up the suspense during the rest of the movie (which we did not get to see because of course the movie itsn’t out). So yeah, we’ll be into the intense drama when it’s out. This is going to be BIG. Harry Potter big! Move over Potter, the Cullens are coming! =)
on June 18th, 2008 at 6:37 pm(I hope Iām being put down for the giveaway, as I am following all of the steps on your list. Thanks.)
This scene looks ok. Thats all I can give it. Don’t get me wrong I was having fan spasms the first time I watched it and still do, I just can’t say its perfect. Maybe once I’ve got the whole movie surrounding it I’ll like it more…but for now I’m still not overly impressed. Hope to win those books!
on June 18th, 2008 at 7:30 pmI think they cut a scene, because she hasn’t even been bitten yet. I can’t wait tosee the part where the Cullens show up. They just love to taunt us like this!!!
on June 18th, 2008 at 8:00 pmI loved what Nomoremarbles said about it.. “I told you to wait at the airport..”
I don’t know how I feel about the special effects. The movie had such a small budget..estimated 30-35 million and with that kind of budget they really don’t have anything to work with in regards to effects. Other then that I’m still so excited about the movie!
on June 18th, 2008 at 8:29 pmOMC!!! THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO BE FREAKEN AWESOME!!! COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS!!! X)
on June 18th, 2008 at 9:30 pmI think they are doing a great job!! and i think they know what they are doing! because you can see how each movie star is playing their character very good!
[[Contest Entry]]
Wow. Intenseness. I have an odd fascination with shattered glass, so this was cool to see. To be honest, I’m not really into this whole scene because action isn’t my think – which I guess is natural considering I’m a hopeless romantic
on June 18th, 2008 at 11:25 pmOMG, talking about intense!! My daughter loves anything to do with these books!! She really loves the trailer!!
on June 19th, 2008 at 5:22 amWow it looks like it will be very good. Wait until I show my husband, he is a much bigger movie buff than me. I tend to read books more because I have always found the book to be much better than the movie because the movie can’t but in all the small parts because of time restrictions. The visual effects look like they will be great throughout the movie. Congratulations on the making of the movie from your book. You have to feel very honored to have written a book that is so good the producers are wanting the story. So kudos for a job well done!! Keep up the good work. I love to read!!
on June 19th, 2008 at 9:22 amThe look Edward gives bella *melt* I love it! But it seems just to dark, and what’s with the flying…. he doesn’t look very fast either when he is going after bella….. *sigh* I must stop complaining
U gotta admit I wan to win this contest bad since i’m commenting everything and my right wrist is broken *sigh* but it’s so worth it!!!
on June 19th, 2008 at 1:10 pmI think the movie will be great! It will probably be somewhat different from the book but it will still be awesome! I can’t wait to see it! DECEMBER 12th will be one of the best days of my life!!!
on June 19th, 2008 at 2:56 pmI’ll let you know what I think when I’n done swooning over Cam Gigandet.
Ok, I’m done.
I love it! The special effects are mind blowing! It’s absolutely stunning!
The only thing I don’t get (and this is probbably just because the scene is out of context) is the look Edward and Bella give each other. Is it because Edward realizes that James bit her? Or is it because she’s bleeding? Or something else entirely?
on June 19th, 2008 at 4:08 pmI don’t know! Grr…!
I’m not a big fan of the “flying” either, but I think it’s just part of the “really fast and fantastic reflexes” bit.
It doesn’t look bad. I’m reserving judgement and trying not to expect them to follow the book completely.
on June 19th, 2008 at 5:23 pmI guess for a movie it is pretty much moving in a good direction.
on June 19th, 2008 at 5:34 pmI’m impressed by the intensity of the emotions and expressions that the actors have managed to pull off.
Honestly, I’m not so enthusiastic over this scene. It doesn’t make sense. Jame’s stunts are horrible and the overall lighting isn’t good. Yeah, it’s supposed to be dark, but I had to read over a few blogs to realize that Edward’s eyes were, in fact, black. I hope Hardwicke’s crew takes care of this.
on June 19th, 2008 at 9:42 pmI’m still not sure how I feel about the movie and this clip didn’t help It was really good but all the little discrepancies really bother me. I can’t wait to see it but I think they have some big shoes to fill because we all LOVE the book so much.
on June 20th, 2008 at 10:42 amThis is my favorite trailer/scene. It’s great! I definately think the movie makers should be proud, they’re doing a great job with this and if all the scenes are as amazing as this one I think everyone will be talking about Twilight for a long time!
on June 20th, 2008 at 10:54 amI like seeing anything twilight but the first part with the O.C. Spray was way choppy. All in all it was pretty good and seems to be going in the right direction.
on June 20th, 2008 at 10:59 amOH.MY.GOD!!!
i seriously cannot wait for this freaken movie!!!
on June 20th, 2008 at 1:47 pmIt looks good to me – I definitely want to see this. Now I have to go find out when it will be released!
on June 20th, 2008 at 6:30 pmhmmm. after seeing this i dont know if i will be able to watch the movie…i mean isn’t bella supposed to be unconcious during the time edward comes, and having said that… wasnt james supposed to bite her? It certainly brings up some thought
on June 20th, 2008 at 11:52 pmThis scene is amazing….Edward is exactlly how i pictured him and Bella looks really breakeable right now. I can’t wait for the movie.
on June 21st, 2008 at 3:35 pmI’ll admit I watched this clip before I even finished Twilight. *gasp* What a way to spoil things, huh?
I think it looks good. It doesn’t get me all pumped up and crazy about the movie, but it doesn’t dissuade me from watching it either. My favorite part of the clip, though, is when you can see the Edward is fighting to control himself at the sight of Bella’s blood. I think that’s the most powerful part of the clip, which might sound crazy. It shows just how much self-control he really must exert.
I think if people get caught up on the details of how the movie is different from the book, they’re going to be sorely disappointed. Happiness will come as you realize one is a book, and the other is a movie. They will be different. Then you can appreciate both for what they’re worth.
on June 21st, 2008 at 4:42 pmI didn’t even know there was a movie coming out till I came to your blog this evening. How cool is that?
on June 21st, 2008 at 11:16 pmim so excited about twilight!!!
on June 22nd, 2008 at 11:50 ammy last comment i messed up the email adress!!
on June 22nd, 2008 at 11:52 ami kind of wish that they had not let this scene out. i’d like to watch the whole movie through. i’d rahter them have put like her first day of school scene or something. i think the movie is going in the right direction but we cant expect it to be better or as good as than the books, because it wont be.
on June 22nd, 2008 at 12:34 pmAlthough there arenāt many action scenes in the Twilight saga, those that are created have been nicely done. I have watched this scene over and over again when the behind-the-scenes first appeared. Again, I watched this scene on the MTV movie awards pre-show, which I devotedly sat directly in front on the screen to witness. I was disappointed that the sneak peak was the ballet studio fight, but still greatly enjoyed it. I canāt wait for the movie to be released.
on June 22nd, 2008 at 1:01 pmI’d say the scene was okay, but then again, it was just a little snippet. I’ll wait till I’ve seen the movie to say anything.
[contest entry]
on June 22nd, 2008 at 4:54 pmthis doesn’t look at all like the way i pictured it….
on June 22nd, 2008 at 6:42 pmi’m confused, is this the ending, or the preface? if it’s the ending, why would they show us the ending as the first taste of the tweilight movie we get (other than the trailer)? doesn’t it ruin the movie then? is it going to be all that jazz that we hope it’ll be? will it be a complete flop? so many questions…..not really any answers… :S
can’t wait….but i really want to….i’m not that thrilled…….but breaking dawn! that’s another story!!!!
urs truly!
p.s. please add this as one of my entries for the contest!!
Is it just me, or is this the same footage that has been on nearly every MTV clip about Twilight? I wish they had picked another scene, one that hadn’d been shown in bits and pieces already. Also, it was not long enough to form an opinion on the movie.
on June 22nd, 2008 at 9:56 pmPlease enter me into the contest.
It’s ok but I’m confused about what’s going on.
on June 23rd, 2008 at 1:15 amI rarely think movies live up to the books they’re based on. Hopefully this one will be an exception – hard to tell from the short clip. It looks as though it has the potential to be good. I guess we’ll see.
on June 23rd, 2008 at 7:21 amLooks like they got the intensity of the situation down, that clip looked great.
on June 23rd, 2008 at 8:33 amI am eager for the movie to open.
I can tell it’s going to be WAY different than the book…which is scarier than any “sadistic vampire.”
on June 23rd, 2008 at 1:49 pmOh wow, this looks amazing! It looks better than I imagined! Its hard to believe that a few year ago, I was reading this book and saying to myself ‘I wish they would make this into a movie.’ Can’t wait to see more!
on June 23rd, 2008 at 2:42 pmdang is it bad that i am totally engrossed in this series even though i am a guy and i’m not gay you really should give it to one of the only guy fans of stephanie meyer (which is me)
on June 23rd, 2008 at 5:10 pmThat scene is awesome! I’m so excited for the movie now.
on June 24th, 2008 at 4:01 amThat chick’s the same actress as in “The Messengers”, and that is one of the top ten scariest movies, IMHO.
on June 24th, 2008 at 9:58 pmI think the movie will be really good when not compared to the book. Obviously there are things that will be changed and added. I am just so excited to see it. I really like the actor who plays James, too. He is really creepy.
on June 25th, 2008 at 2:22 amA friend just told me her somewhat recent theory on movies made from books. If she wants to like the movie, she doesn’t read the book first. At least not right before watching the film.
I thought about it, and it makes sense. Too often, the film doesn’t live up to the book. Actually, I can only think of one or two that did.
on June 25th, 2008 at 7:39 amYeah! I finally got to the post so I can finish all 11 tasks for a double entry into the Stephenie Meyer contest!
By the way, if this is the scene I think it is, they changed it from the novel the. But it could work.
on June 25th, 2008 at 1:22 pmThey did definitely change a few things around, but that’s to be expected seeing as they’re trying to fit this large book into a 2 hour or so movie. I just don’t like the “flying” that James does. Vampires…don’t fly. Maybe we can call it a jump with lots of hang time XD
on June 25th, 2008 at 3:01 pmI’m still up in the air on this one. I’m thinking that I’d love the movie, if I hadn’t read the book first. I just have all the characters in my head. Some of them don’t look right in the movie
on June 25th, 2008 at 5:06 pmso, i think that twilight is going to be amazing
on June 25th, 2008 at 9:14 pmi was going crazy waiting for the scene to show on mtv and couldn’t believe that they waited ’til the end of the beginning half hour to show it
but when they showed it, i was like :O
OME
i can’t believe we have to wait until DECEMBER!
i might go crazyyy!
but yeaa, the scene was amazing, i CAN’T WAIT to see the rest of it
Wow,
Thats great.
Even though its not accurate to the book,
Oh well.
I was hoping to see more..
..pain in Edward’s eyes when he saw Bella.
:S
on June 26th, 2008 at 10:16 ameven though it was different then the book i actually liked this scene. hopefully the movie is as good as it is looking at the moment. i can’t wait to see it.
on June 26th, 2008 at 11:18 amI don’t know about this. It looks too fake to me. I mean, James is flying through the air. I was a bit skeptical at that part. But I still want to see the movie!!
on June 27th, 2008 at 7:28 amI haven’t read the book yet so I don’t know if the movie is going to be dead on or not. I really want to see it in December when it comes out though, so hopefully I’ll have read the book by then. And then, of course, hopefully the movie won’t be a let down.
Thanks for including me in your Stephanie Meyer book giveaway draw.
on June 27th, 2008 at 12:39 pmThe trailer looks good. I have not read the books as yet, but I am looking for to all of them. My friend Rebekah emailed your link to me, and I have faith in her recommendation….
on June 27th, 2008 at 8:39 pmThe scene is very like the book except for a few minor details, nothing huge. Looking good though, I can’t wait for the movie to come out. I’m one of those people who find themselves strangely obssessed with the books!
on June 28th, 2008 at 9:26 amThis clip is pretty awesome. I can not wait to see the whole movie. From what I’ve seen and heard, they are following the book really well.
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!
on June 28th, 2008 at 7:04 pmI think the trailer looks good… my teenage daughters have debated amongst themselves about the casting. It is always somewhat weird to see an actor portraying a character that you have imagined differently. I think the movie should be good though!
on June 28th, 2008 at 10:40 pmBrittany Wright! Pass a paperbag over here!
It must’ve take awhile to get Robert Pattinson to convey Edward’s personality. I can imagine the director yelling at him:
“What kind of CROOKED smile is that?!”
“Graceful, graceful, graceful!”
“Stay STILL!”
Back to the trailer talk. It’s sorta weird when they flail their arms in mid air. Again, straying from the storyline…*sigh*
My friends and I are planning to watch the movie when it comes out as our reunion.
on June 29th, 2008 at 1:25 amAlthough for some reason, I felt a little disappointed when I saw the scene, I’m confident that the movie as a whole will be great.
I mean, they have this perfect “teen-trashy-but-not-too-trashy” plotline, that appeals to all of us twilight fangirls out there, and I’m sure they can’t screw it all up. Hah.
I love James! =D
on June 29th, 2008 at 5:11 amI can’t wait to see all the funny lines from the books used in the movie!
I was unsure about this scene because its not that similar to the book, but i guess we’ll just wait and see (:
on June 29th, 2008 at 11:42 amI still think it will be amazing.
Teehee!! Its already got me even more excited for the movie! I mean, yeah, I had the characters pictured differently in my mind, but its always going to be like that going from book to movie, right? But still, I think overall it should be pretty good. I have faith that they won’t screw anything up.
on June 29th, 2008 at 12:36 pmthis is just making my twilight craving worse!! this seems SO COOL and I really can’t wait to see it! I love the lighting they’re using and the camera angles and filters on the cameras are just so cool and really fit with the scene. It’s going to be a great movie and this scene just really goes to show it!
on June 29th, 2008 at 6:30 pmI like the trailer, the actors and the special efferts are good because the actors have the right facial expressions, perfect
on June 29th, 2008 at 9:12 pmQuite well done. The only things that are really bugging me is a)James is hotter than Edward. b) that they will get the personalities of people all wrong
on June 29th, 2008 at 9:35 pmJAMES IS NOT HOTTER THAN EDWARD!!!!
that said.. moving on.
I think it was done really well, the placement of the camera, the highlite of the guy playing with edward’s beads before he smashed his head into some glass.. highlites James’s evilness. I LOVE it!!! The actors are really well chosen!
on June 29th, 2008 at 9:41 pmThis is just making me MORE impatient! i’ve been waiting so long, and i’m so happy and content with the way this scene has come out…but i did think that Bella was more hurt in the book, but i haven’t seen the scene in CONTEXT yet, so i can’t say for sure…
on June 30th, 2008 at 11:41 amThis is just Amazing. it’s as close as it can get to being like the book. The movie is definetly going in the right derection. I’m so impatient. I want the movie.
on June 30th, 2008 at 1:38 pmWhen I saw it during the MTV Movie Awards I have to admit I wasn’t blown away with that scene but when I watched it a couple of times, it’s actually pretty good. I imagined the ballet scene a little different but I like this one better. I wished they also showed another scene:)
on June 30th, 2008 at 3:47 pmStrangely enough I was really dissapointed with this scene. After all of the hype, I was expecting something amazing. But I’m also not much of an action adventure person; I’m much more satisfied with the romantic scenes.
on June 30th, 2008 at 3:53 pmIt’s great. Since it’s just based on the book, I think it got as close as it ever will.
on June 30th, 2008 at 4:13 pmI was a little dissappointed by the first completed scene. In the first place there was not enough blood. How can you make a vampire go into a frenzy of bloodlust if there isnt enough blood to do so. I mean there was only one little scratch of blood. What I did like was the whole fighting part with Cam and Rob. They did an excellent job especially in the part when Cam smashes Rob into the mirror it is great how you can see both Rob and Cam in the mirror reflected. I also didn’t like the part where Edward comes in and he looks at Kristen. Kristen looked scared when she shouldn’t have. I mean she knew what he was. She looked almost disgusted with him. I didn’t like that
on June 30th, 2008 at 4:13 pmI’m not sure I like the pepper spray in the beginning, but the rest looks awesome. James is so scary. And Edward is sexy as hell.
on June 30th, 2008 at 4:14 pmi thought the scene was ok but i thought it was supposed to be the whole scene not just part of it. oh well i still cant wait
this is an entry and so are all my other posts.
on June 30th, 2008 at 4:15 pm……………………………:( I’m kind of disappointed. The weird jumping was kind of unhappy-making. It’s good that I saw it–it brings down my expectations for the film, and that gives me a better chance of liking it. Edward makes my heart jump, still. Did you notice, though, that Bella looks a little like Hermione form the Harry Potter movies in certain shots? Look for it next time you watch it!
EntryEntry in your contest!
on June 30th, 2008 at 4:35 pmHmm…well I didn’t really think the clip itself was that great. But after reading all the interviews, watching the clips, etc. I’m really excited for the movie and I have a feeling it could actually be really close to the book and brilliant. We’ll have to see…
on June 30th, 2008 at 5:07 pmI don’t what to put too much negative energy out there so i’ll just say grrrrrr…..
on June 30th, 2008 at 5:13 pmI sooo can not wait for the movie!!! I just wish I could met Dr. Who so I could go forward in time and watch the movie! lol. But the only thing that is kinda sad is technically its not a whole scene cause you can see in the middle where it fades white for a second into the next part and ppl say thats the part where she was bitten that they hid from us lol.
on June 30th, 2008 at 5:27 pmAHHH!!! THIS IS SO AMZING!!! DID U GUYS SEE THE WAY ROB’S EYES SMOLDERED!! I FORGOT TO BREATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
on June 30th, 2008 at 5:51 pmJAMES’S HAIR WAS STRANGELY SEXY!! AND EVERYTHING OF SPUNK IS *SIGH*
nah, I hated it. it killed me. like WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW? just WATCH the trailer and the first scene in hopes of figuring out what’s happening and what’s gonna happen in the rest of the movie? DDDX
on June 30th, 2008 at 6:06 pmbut I suppose it’s going fine. I mean, I can’t tell a lot of the stuff. but I’m sure when I see it up close and really big, I’ll finally understand what that clinking noise was.
What I absolutly love about this other than the scene directly is how the people making the movie are handling the fandom. They are all very smart, they are giving us the changes bit by bit, making us aware but not overwhelmed by these changes. This way when we go to the theater december 12 we will be prepare that it’s not going to be exactly like the book because it can’t be. That said I think this scene is superb. The stunts look cool because they are different and I actually like it even while others complain about it. Also you can see the passion, love, anger, and conflict in the one shot of Edward when he arrives and looks at Bella. So powerful to me and has me convinced that maybe those two can pull off this incredible romance.
on June 30th, 2008 at 6:09 pmWhen this gorgeous clip aired at 7:55 p.m., i could feel the blood rushing through my body. It was…amazing. Nothing too flashy, nothing too cocky or boring…
on June 30th, 2008 at 6:17 pmIt was the “perfect brand of heroin.”
At first i was quite apprehensive; would they be able to pull it off? Will this clip determine its fate? Whether the world falls in love all over again with twilight or whether they turn a cold shoulder? Howver they’ve won my heart and i cannot WAIT until twilight comes in theatres.
I can’t wait for the movie! I’m so excited
I thought this was very good. It strayed a bit from the book, but that’s to be expected. It took me a minute to figure out that Bella was trying to use pepper spray, though.
on June 30th, 2008 at 6:26 pmAWESOME!
just like I imagined it..but BETTER.
on June 30th, 2008 at 6:28 pmIt’s not exactly like the book but I think it’ll be a great movie anyway! Love love loooooove this scene. It’s on my iPod! So stoked for the movie. Kristen and Rob are so cute together. Can’t wait to see the scene in the hospital. Oh, wait this is Bella Swan we’re talking about, there’s a lot of hospital scenes – the one at the end of the book!!
on June 30th, 2008 at 6:32 pmI love this scene. The movie isn’t going to follow the book exactly. It’s an adaptation. They have to stretch things out and make it more visually appealing. I am so looking forward to this movie. I hope it lives up to the hype.
on June 30th, 2008 at 6:38 pmPersonally I don’t believe that they kept this part close to what happened in the books but I do admit that it is very good flim wise. If you keep comparing everything to the book and hopping it’ll be just like it your be let down. I think all in all it was good. Hopefully better with the whole movie done.
on June 30th, 2008 at 6:39 pmPersonally, I would have liked the scene to be a romanctic one, but the action looks pretty cool. Doesn’t make me any more or less excited about the movie.
on June 30th, 2008 at 6:41 pmI am glad that they are explanding on the book beacause, in a movie, they cannot actually talk about for pages and pages what the characters are think. They needed to delve into the characters more and show how their relationship progresses more.
on June 30th, 2008 at 7:08 pmAWESOME!!! This movie is TOTALLY going in the right direction! The chemistry between Edwards and Bellas EVERY LOOK! IT ROCKS! You can just see every emotion that I feel when I read it in their eyes!!! James is evil and spiffy like he should be and I am even MORE EXCITED! Can I wait till December 12th?! DOUBTFUL! Once it gets here I will TOTALLY be watching it about 100 times! Good think I work at the theater! FREE MOVIES!:)
on June 30th, 2008 at 7:23 pmDAZZLING!!!
on June 30th, 2008 at 7:31 pmI loved it!
It was exactly how i pictured it!
it literally sent shivers down my spine it was soo good! it’s making me even more excited for december 12!!!
Oh. My. Gosh. Amazing. Almost exactly as written.
on June 30th, 2008 at 7:39 pmAhhhhh breath taking! That scene wasn’t much detailed in the book right? The atmosphere is very much like the book and Im very excited to see the whole movie! I think the movie is going in the right direction..Hopefully, it won’t be deceiving.
on June 30th, 2008 at 8:06 pmI’m putting faith in the fact that Stephenie has approved the movie stuff =) I figure she knows what she’s doing. When I first found out Robert was cast a Edward, I was worried that he wouldn’t portray him correctly. After seeing this scene, I have no doubts.
on June 30th, 2008 at 8:12 pmPerfect. Incredible.
I am literally shaking. The movie will be amazing beyond belief. I am going to go broke going to the theaters so often. Most likely daily. With Twilight in my lap the entire time. Robert is perfect. James is so sexy.
I’m stoked!
on June 30th, 2008 at 8:33 pmSpeechless….
But…james is described as being ordinary…he is most certainly not ordinary.
I am definitely going to be in the theater on december 12!!!
on June 30th, 2008 at 9:13 pmI was a little bit disapointed. Yes the scene has tons of action but I was hoping for a more Bella & Edward time scene. I really wanted to connect with them protraying the couple. In the scene it was more about Bella. And alot of James. Its alright. But not what I was expecting.
on June 30th, 2008 at 9:13 pmWell, I’m looking forward to seeing the whole thing! It’s hard to see from this piece alone – I *think* they’re going in the right direction but we’ll have to see! Although really, I’m just happy to see any aspect of the movie!
People have to remember that as much as you want it to be exactly the same, a movie is simply another interpretation of the book and the author’s vision of the story. Some concessions will need to be made for the story to flow (anyone who knows LOTR inside out and still learned to like the movies will know what I mean!). From other clips I’ve seen, it’s obvious that James bites her… we just don’t see it here.
on June 30th, 2008 at 9:16 pmI love this clip. I’m glad I haven’t read the book yet. Book to movie adaptations usually disappoint me if I’ve read the book first. I’m waiting until after the movie this time.
on June 30th, 2008 at 9:23 pmI’m so glad this is the first scene they released. Go Edward! I love how he just comes out of nowhere and takes James down!! And how Bella sprays James with pepper spray or something…like that would work lol
on June 30th, 2008 at 9:42 pmIt looks awesome and I can’t wait until it is finally realeased in December..I mean it, I am literally on edge with lack of details for this movie. They’ve done everything wonderfully. They’ve kept the storyline almost exactly like the book, they’ve hired all the right actors who look like exactly like the characters…I’m so waiting on the edge of my seat for this movie!!!
on June 30th, 2008 at 10:30 pmI really Like the Scene. It Shows the Detail explained in the book, sort of. It goes by the books in a way too. I like how they make it seems sort of real, but the jumping, that just looks to far. I know they can do it, but it still looks cheesy. When I would picture Edward Jumping. I pictured it FAST, not slow. I just hope that all the running and the Vampire’s “super poweres” Are played out really well, not like some of the chinese/japanese/american Old movie’s about Vampire’s.
BUT, With today’s Technology. You never know, it could be REALLY good. and Even though sometimes the Movie isn’t as good as the book, it doesnt’ mean the movie still isn’t good. I hope it doesn’t Fail
on June 30th, 2008 at 10:34 pmWow. I can’t believe that you are having such a fantastic giveaway. This is totally awesome
