April’s Keywords Used to Find My Blog

Well, from the sound of it, my last post about keywords had such a great response that I’ve decided to have this be a monthly installment. April was a really good month for me in terms of this blog. I surpassed my readership goal and was really pleased with the response to my 100 posts giveaway (today is the last day to enter, details here and the books to win here).

The month of April brought in more than 3,000 keywords.

  2. Repossessed by A. M. Jenkins is on the ALA list. (I want to read it something terrible.)

Change of Heart is not based on a true story. She does involve bit of truth, such as the Bristish science journal Lancet’s study about improper sedation during execution by lethal injection.

. . . all the toddlers in my life don’t smear poop. I am suddenly very thankful for this.

  3. I really, truly, love these posts. I wonder if I get enough to do the same. Hilarious. I am slightly alarmed by the number of ‘poo smearing’ key words you get. Makes me afraid to have children (or at least toddlers).

  4. What a fun idea for a post. Interesting to see what questions people are interested in…

  5. I think I did the search for Maw Books: I had all my RSS feeds in outlook but then they all disappeared so I’ve switched to Google REader and I added them all again. I don’t have nearly as many as you do–and some were saved in an OPM file–but it still took a while.

  6. This was hilariously fun to read. Some of these really made me laugh.

I really like the “why i hate the memory keeper’s daughter”. I can’t help you there. I have no idea why they hate the book either. Maybe a psychologist could help them figure out why they hate the book.

  7. LOL! This is hilarious!

  8. This was fun! And I apologize for this being (I think) my first time to visit. I’ve seen you around my favorite book blogs… Anyway, what is really wierd is I’ve only had one search term in the last 8 months. I don’t think I’m posting about stuff that obscure, or maybe I have something checked ‘pls don’t find my blog’ but I don’t know what. I’ve also only had 4 spams!

It’s funny that you say you don’t like spoilers but you give a few!

  9. Nymeth – Thanks!

Liviania – Thanks for the clarification on the ala keyword. Luckily, my toddler hasn’t smeared poop either!

Devourer of Books – I’ll be doing this monthly now after my large response from my last one. It seems I’m the authority on poop!

Rebecca – It’s funny because I had Maw Books searched for something like 30 times. It kinda makes a girl feel good.

Leisa – Did you see the other post? I can’t help but share these.

    Bunny – Thanks.

bkclubCare – I have to admit I’ve lurked around your blog and your in the database of book reviews already. Thanks for stopping by! I saw that you were being hosted with wordpress. Underneath options, and then privacy are the boxes to indicate if you want to be found by search engines. 80% of my traffic comes from Google alone. This is a great resource if you wanted to explore it more:

Funny, that you say I give spoilers. I actually felt that I didn’t give to much away. At least no more than the other bloggers. And if it’s major, I do say “spoiler” (see water for elephants keyword above). Even when it’s in the comments . As for me, because I don’t like to know to much about a book, I usually skim through reviews just to get an idea if it’s the type of book that I’d like and after I read it I go back and read reviews in full.

  10. [...] interesting terms so that I could do a post on it, but I saw that Natasha at Maw Books is doing a monthly thing of it, and I’ll think I’ll be a copy cat and do the same. *waving* Hi, Natasha! [...]

  11. THANK YOU for the help!

and I only meant in this post; I have yet to roam and read a lot of your posts YET. I will though, I promise. :)

  12. Care – Hope I was able to help and that you get it figured out.

  13. It is amazing how this happens. I blame it not only on the weird assortment of terms we accumulate on our blogs, but also on people with poor search skills. I wonder if this is even taught in school, or if teachers assume that “everybody knows” how to do it, especially since the youngest generations have always had the internet.
