Let’s Play a Game

Well, I’ve got five more book reviews to type up, but in the meantime how about a game? Something just for fun. Wouldn’t it be great to discover some new great book blogs? I can hear you now saying, “Yeah, right. I can’t keep up with the ones I’ve got already!” I know how you feel. I just checked my Google Reader and I’m now subscribed to 421 blogs. Yes, call me crazy, but we’ve already had that discussion before.

Book ReviewsFor some fun, hop on over to the Book Bloggers Book Reviews, find an author or a book that you really enjoy and then visit 3-5 new book blogs that you’ve never seen. Leave them some comments and then come back here and tell me who you visited, what you learned, any funny posts, etc.

No pressure, just a fun way to get the pot stirring a bit. I know we don’t really need an excuse to read more blogs, but if you do need one, now you’ve got one.

  2. I’m interested in nonfiction blogs as well. It seems like every site is fiction only (or mostly). Do you know of nonfiction blogs?

  3. So I looked around at several blogs that you have listed. I ended up adding 3 to my reader.
-Confessions of a Real Librarian. I found some great picture books that I’ll be looking for at the library next week.
-The Well-Read Child. How have I not found this blog before now? I LOVE it!
-Between the Covers. Wish I had known about the Eponymous Challenge that she is hosting before now. I would have loved to participate in this one.
It was fun but I’ve been sitting at my computer for way too long now so I better stop reading blogs and step away from the computer. :-)

  4. I don’t know how you do it! I think I have 35 subscriptions and I feel like I can’t keep up! I really try to visit the blogs I subscribe to regularly–especially the people who visit me regularly. 421! :)

  5. Rebecca - Yes, most are Fiction. I can try to see if I can come up with some non-fiction blogs for you if you’d like. Or how about this? Is there any particular author that you’d like to see? Just let me know and I’ll get it up.

Jeanette - Awesome! Jill from The Well Read Child is nice enough to stop by here every once in a while. Glad you found some good ones.

Trish - I have a separate folder where I keep my commentators and the people I really like to visit. For the others I glance through their titles quickly see if there are ones to add to the database or something catches my eye. Thank goodness for the separate folder, it makes it manageable.

  6. I’ll have to look into that! It took me forever just to realize there was an easier way to keep up with my blogs other than clicking on my sidebar links. ;) I didn’t realize that I could make folders…I can see how that would make it so much easier.

  10. Natasha, No particular author. I try to read all kinds of books and it just surprises me that most people only focus their blogging on the fiction. Or are most people only reading fiction? Just curious. I enjoy reading others’ blogs. Thanks for the links.
