52 Books in 52 Weeks

While visiting the website of Rob Miller, the creator of the Now Reading widget on my blog, I was intrigued by what he called 52-in-52. I decided that I too would take this challenge. What is 52-in-52? Simply a goal of reading 52 books in 52 weeks. With the new year upon us, now is the perfect time to start. Honestly, I feel no doubt that I will be able to accomplish this. If I have no life altering events this next year, I should be able to keep up my current pace. Within the last six months, I read at least 30 books. 52 books certianly doesn’t feel like a very impressive challenge, especially after googling others 2008 reading goals. But as I’ve never participated in any type of reading challenge I might as well start on the smaller side or else I’ll get overwhelmed and stressed if I don’t suceed. And who wants to get stressed out over reading for pleasure?

My to be read pile is huge! And it only gets bigger. I tell myself all the time that I can’t buy any more books until I have read all the ones that I have. But an irrestible pull makes me keep buying more. Visit my personal library to see what I own. Have any recommendations based upon what I have? Just let me know. Like to borrow one? In my area? Just let me know! I’ll keep you posted on my 52-in-52.

Hey you! Yes. You! I've noticed that you've stopped by to visit a few times! But I don't know who you are. Why don't you take a moment and introduce yourself. Don't be scared. I try not to bite. I know you're a lurker but I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's been bringing you here. And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to never miss a post by subscribing to my feed or receiving updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

  3. Well, I’ve read 3 so far and starting on number 4. Chad says Harry Potter doesn’t count since I’ve already read it before, but I say a books a book! I would definitely say this challenge isn’t too overwhelming, which is great. Fun, but no stress. I am currently reading More Mouse Tales: A Closer Peek Backstage at Disneyland. What can I say, our family is a little bit nuts about the Magic Kingdom.

  4. I’d love to go to Disneyland soon. We love too. So far I’m doing pretty good with the challenge, I think I’ve read at least 7 this year, but I was on a young adult kick for about a week or so when I was reading Patricia McCormick’s books. One of my upcoming books though is a fat one, What is the What.
