What I’ve Been Reading

I am an avid reader. Ever since I was very little, I loved to read. In fact, when I was in elementary school I would keep a log of all of the books that I had read. I’ve kept a personal journal since I was eight years old and in one of those very first entries, I noted how I was reading the little house on the “priere” books. All through high school, I read and read and I remember one summer I checked out every single John Steinbeck book from the library. Sadly, during college I found very little time for personal pleasure reading and I missed it. I could really tell a big difference in how not reading makes you feel. I simply didn’t have the time between working my way through school, classes, papers, tests, projects, etc. and getting enough sleep. I’m sure everyone can empathize there. As soon I as I graduated, I had the luxury to read for pleasure.

I have always enjoyed reading fiction, and for the last couple of years have been reading more contemporary literature (I only had been reading classics prior). And since I’ve started to have children I’ve also added many of the parenting books to my reading list. Following is a list of the books that I have read in their entirety in the last six months. The only reason I go back six months is because that’s when I had my second baby and I can remember what I read before the baby and what I read after the baby. They are in no particular order.

Are there any on this list that you’ve read? Feel free to share your insights, thoughts, and comments.  I would love to hear them.

  1. Wow. We sound very much alike. I love that about the internet - you can always find people just like you when you thought there were none! I WISH I had thought to keep track of all I’ve read over the years … instead I started in November when I turned 30!

I’m linking to your site so I can keep up. YEA on the 100 posts milestone!
